I'm having a hard time thinking of just singular clever lines from slipknot, they're more about overarching themes, same with SOAD, but i mean, just the entirety of All out Life if you don't feel like doing a whole lot of interpreting, there's still a bit of interpretation, specifically people aren't sure if it's about socio-political issues or just music. But I just mean all the symbolic wording, it's common in metal, but they never just say what they mean, they say something representing it, if they didn't they wouldn't sound nearly as engaging, and more importantly they wouldn't have multiple interpretations, which is a big selling point for a loooooot of fans.

But why not, I'll try my best to break down psychosocial

I did my time, and I want out
So, just as a little spoiler, the overall theme imo is about people who've been through shit, and are now living as outcasts, its about being fed up with society. And this line is basically saying, I want out of this society, because it's shit. This is an overarching theme for them always, People = Shit, We are not your kind, etc. Also, some people view this as a statement on prison or the military, those are the other two most common explanations I've heard. And I guess I'll include the military explanation as well.
So effusive fade
It doesn't cut,
The soul is not so vibrant
To be effusive is to have gratitude towards something, but that gratitude fades, because it doesn't cut, it doesn't cut it. And he says the soul isn't vibrant, the effusive feelings he once had are gone, the world simply didn't live up to it, creating the misanthropy we know slipknot for, I always attribute phrases like this to a quote I heard a long time ago, I'm not sure from who, "behind every cynic is a disappointed idealist" that's him here, the disappointed idealist. Also if you believe the military interpretation this could refer to being a former patriot who was let down.
The reckoning, the sickening
Back at you, subversion
Reckoning often refers to a kind of judgement day, and, in the context of the song, it may mean people who have been shit on rising up to begin the reckoning of ending society, but it just as well could mean that they're waking up to what they are now, and the sickening is pretty obvious, they are becoming sickened by the world, in this case practically a synonym of reckoning in some ways. And then back at you subversion yet again refers to the disappointed idealist concept, they are now the subversive fighters. And that line carries even more weight in the military one because it was somebody who literally fought for their country now becoming subversive, giving the opposite of what they gave before.
Pseudo-sacrosanct perversion
This line is about the corrupt image of what is "sacrosanct" or holy, specifically sacrosanct refers to a holy object, rather than entity, yeah it's often something like a cow, but that's still property, so the line essentially picks at how society values certain things beyond what they are, it takes objects (and within the context of society "object" could very well include public figures) and bends them into something perverse that is heralded as a type of holy by society. Keep in mind this is a metal band, the things that are "worshiped" by society are their enemy, to quote All Out Life "I will not worship empty shells" and as for the military one, it would refer to propaganda, the perversion of the government into something sacred, when it's so corrupt and screws people over. This also has a heavy religious leaning, but I don't wanna bother talking about that as well, it's present all throughout, but I've already spent forever typing this.
Go drill your deserts,
Go dig your graves
Then fill your mouth
With all the money you will save
Desert Drilling would be a reference to strip mining or similar form of production, it essentially in this case is referring to a form of work done purely in the name of profit, while wasting people's life away, and also maybe a minor environmentalist thing. In this context drill your deserts just means waste your life on work for money, and could also be a reference to certain wars that seem to be fought in the name of profit as well. Then dig your graves means wasting your time and life, just preparing to die, nothing more, it represents how people put themselves in a "grave" of mediocrity, they are dead in Corey's eyes they aren't doing anything, and under the millitary idea it could literally refer to soldiers getting themselves killed, and how the government tries their damnedest to not pay any soldiers, just saving all the money they can (go watch 5FDP's wrong side of heaven video if you don't know what I'm talking about). And then fill your mouth with all the money you will save, filling your mouth with money refers essentially to frivolous spending, a take on the term "consumers" saying that they just fill their mouths with the money that they save from their safe "predictable" lives, I put predictable in quotes because of songs like All Out Life (which I keep referring to because that song is literally their rhetoric).
Sinking in, getting smaller again
I'm done, it has begun
I'm not the only one
This line is about how him and everyone else like him is fed up, they're done, and now their rebellion has begun, yes, I know, it's reaaaaaaly edgy, but it's hard to deny that society is shit enough to warrant it. And sinking in getting smaller again is essentially an expression meaning that they, before they were "done" with it all, were getting more and more put inside of the society that was breaking him, and making him smaller, than before.
I'm not the only one is a reference to all the people, such as the maggots, who see eye to eye with him on how shit everything is.
These lines could also represent the deteriorating minds of a veteran, and how when their done with it all, they'll join others, yet again like the maggots, with a grudge against society.
And the rain will kill us all,
The rain referrers to the world outside, essentially conceding that they will die, but it's worth it. As shown in the Martyr line following it, the line is about martyism.
Throw ourselves against the wall
The wall they're referring to is the wall that has been put up by society, the one that keeps them blind, if you don't know what I mean go listen to empty walls by Serj Tankian, Slipknot has songs that talk about those same metaphorical walls, though Serj is a bit more literal, both have the same concept of what is not seen by the people, by, throwing themselves against it, they are fighting with everything they have to break through it. and in a military context this takes on a suuuuuper literal meaning, closer to empty walls that I mentioned, as a soldier they likely saw what no normal citizen will see, things traumatizing, things enlightening that showed them how the world really is.
But no one else can see,
The preservation of the martyr in me
This is essentially saying that nobody recognizes what he's doing, but that he'll hold it inside, preserving it, he's trying to be the Martyr that is "killed by the rain" once they see what is behind the wall, in other words, they want to be the one everyone sees destroyed by seeing what's true. In the case of slipknot it'd be by sacrificing their sanity essentially, becoming fully misanthropic, not ever actually dying, but showing the world his rage, and this doesn't just apply to him for being famous, it can be anyone. As for the military interpretation, this line is also about deteriorating minds, post traumatic stress and maybe even physical wounds being used to show society how the world is.
Psychosocial, psychosocial, psychosocial
Psychosocial, psychosocial, psychosocial
Psychosocial technically just means the psychology of socializing, but that is obviously not what they mean, they mean psychotically social, anti-social, in other words, not compatible with society. And yes, I'M FULLY AWARE OF HOW MUCH OF AN EDGELORD THAT MAKES HIM SOUND but it's not like his message isn't true, the worst part of complete edgelord fucks, and the most egredious part of a lot of emo music, is when they act like they're the only one that feels that way, that's the reaaaaal groan inducer, but slipknot says the exact opposite, they're not the only one, the closest they come to that level of pretentiousness is the "no one else can see" line, but even that you can argue he just means no one else outside of the people he sees eye to eye with.
Oh, there are cracks, in the road we lay
From where the temple fell
The temple falling is a reference to society collapsing, in this case when he says "we" he means people collectively, not just himself, but that road is damaged by society breaking down, if you like the military interpretation, this one could mean how their country has failed the people, the temple of what was supposed to be fell.
The secrets have gone mad!
This refers to what that fallen temple was, the corrupt secrets of the world becoming known as they had "gone mad" which can refer to not only getting out of hand and getting more and more intense, but also becoming more and more known
This is nothing new,
But when we kill it all
the hate was all we had
This speaks yet again to the temple, societies have collapsed since the beginning of history, and also personalizing it, saying it's not the first time he's seen these "secrets go mad", saying his "kind" have killed these before, but afterwards, everyone was only left even more angry.
Who needs another mess?
This is most likely a contentious objector, a line that asks a question to the singer, author, character, etc.
We could start over
Just look me in the eyes
And say I'm wrong
This line resolves the previous question, the previous question essentially said that they shouldn't pick this fight, who needs another mess, but this one says that we could fix it, we could start everything over, and he basically implies that you can't deny we could make things better.
Now there's only emptiness,
yeah no shit
But a message to bring
This line, to me, speaks to how, even though it's all "empty" pessimism, it's still "a message" to be told, something to be known.
I think we're done
I'm not the only one!
Yet again stating that he is not alone in his rage, also saying I think we're done here is saying, I think I've justified my hatred.
And the rain will kill us all,
Throw ourselves against the wall
But no one else can see,
The preservation of the martyr in me
Psychosocial, psychosocial, psychosocial
Psychosocial, psychosocial, psychosocial

The limits of the dead,
The limits of the dead,
The limits of the dead,
The limits of the dead,
This one is kinda tricky, it seems to be a reference to martyrdom but more as a warning, depending on what you died for, you will only have a "limited" influence and meaning. And then in terms of the military interpretation, this could refer to what the soldiers, basically the dead as they're expected to die, are capable of. This one is real vague, but I think it was done because the rest is not the most cryptic in the world, so a message like that after statements of martyrdom is welcomed.

Fake anti-fascists lie,
So this was 2008, correct me if I'm wrong, but the group that comes straight to everyone's mind when they hear this weren't in the public eye yet, but, this, from what I hear, is around the time that idealism was starting to become very popular, and Slipknot, hates that shit, or at least it seems like it "old does not mean dead, new does not mean best (anti-mindless fake progress), yours does not mean mine (anti-communist), etc." So the idea that they saw these new stupid ass ideas coming up of people pretending to fight for a certain cause when they're just "faking it" lying about what people are, it's more than a coincidence. And under the veteran idea, it's even more fitting, because they would naturally be the most infuriating thing in the world for somebody who was actually screwed over by their government and is trying to make a real change and not that bullshit.
I tried to tell you but,
Your purple eyes are giving out,
The reference to purple eyes, is a play on the term "rose colored glasses" probably not that specific saying, but you know what I mean, the people who are seeing the world from an overly colorful viewpoint, an idealistic one, the "fake anti-facists" would also fit this description, and in the line he says those idealistic eyes are giving out, they're starting to see things how they are to Corey. And it's happening after he tried to tell them, but didn't listen until now. And for the Veteran, this makes more than perfect sense, they've seen what the real world is like, the one their talking to is still seeing through those tinted eyes, the one only seeing things in bright colors, not the real world they know.
Can't stop the killing idea,
If it's hunting season,
This is telling the idealistic one that they can't stop violence, whether metaphorical or literal and is essentially another call to reality to whom they're talking to, but, not a hopeless one, they say they can't stop the violence while it's "hunting season" however that hunting season could presumably still be stopped, he's saying that you have to stop the environment of violence, before you can stop the violence itself, target the root of the problem. And for the military explanation, it would be directly referring to war, you can't have peace until you change the way the world views war.
Is this what you want?,
I'm not the only one!
And the rain will kill us all,
Throw ourselves against the wall
But no one else can see,
The preservation of the martyr in me
And the rain will kill us all,
Throw ourselves against the wall

The preservation of the martyr in me

Yeah, so that, you were right about it being a scrutiny of those things, I didn't single out any political views or religious views for the most part (the anti-facist line is kind of on the nose), don get me wrong it's very much in there, I was just speaking in higher generality, if I wanted to get really specific to what every angry rebellious line is likely referring to It'd take even longer. But yeah, every little phrase has some kind of meaning to it, they're not "fake deep" they all have something to say, we started this talking about "clever lines" and every line has some sort of meaning to it. And if you want just good lines. The problem now is that no matter what I type it won't hold up to whatever high ass standard there's gonna be, because we've already talked about it so much. But whatever, I'll find some of my favorites

"No accountability - divisibility
I point a finger but it's always looking back at me
The centipede's pulling on the mechanism
Unearthing scars of the cataclysm
When the innocent begin to circumvent
The color fades, but the picture is vibrant
What do you believe? Does it matter now?
Turn away - the killer is disavowed"

"Will she ever find, one million of a kind
It's cold and lonely, but that's because she told me
Lost inside her dirty world
No one hurts this pretty girl but her"

"Under the words of men
Something is tempting the father
Where is your will, my friend?
Insatiates never even bother"

"I'm smeared across the page, and doused in gasoline
I wear you like a stain, yet I'm the one who's obscene"

the entirety of All Out Life, it's just perfect.

I'd make the list longer, but I have to leave where I am in like 10 minutes, and I don't feel like typing on mobile so yee, that's that shit.

But no one else can see,
The preservation of the martyr in me
The limits of the dead,
The limits of the dead

You didn't address the military thing, the road song, or the other lyrics and you dismissed every single angry thing said as the same. Even though every line is "grr society" each line introduces a new reason or element to it, yes they are all about hating society but it fleshed it out very well, I only repeated a point a few times, what you're viewing as redundant is that every line was about the same theme of fuck society, but it did a great deal of saying why and even going into the implications behind improvement. And your eskeet joke was funny but that's bout it, if you want an interpretation as stretchy as that some others have plenty.

I didn't read all of it because all that I read wasn't offering anything other than an over explanation of simple ideas along with personal interpretations. Like, most people interpret the wall he throws himself against as an emotional wall.

Personal interpretations doesn't mean 'thoughtful'. If anything it just makes you more thoughtful.

Edgy doesn't mean cringe, but what makes this a bit cringe is that it's juvenile angst with juvenile answers like he just barely realized that society sucks. Great, you're pointing out the obvious. Yet when ever any of these people get all angsty and say "society sucks!" they typically forget that they are society too. They lack the self awareness to critique society as whole in a way that makes you think. Always thinking of themselves as victims with out realizing that the same self interest, materialism, and especially the superficial attributes also apply to them.

I can't help but like this, it's so fucking funny even though It's trying so hard to be dramatic and meaningful, like the fucking room, omg this is so good. The spoken word lines with Lou Reed are so horribly done it's hysterical, it just sounds off, it feels like he can't decide whether or not to sing or just speak it, and he obviously can't sing (or if he can he ain't showin it), it sounds so bad it's hillarious. Until at one point, it actually feels like it might be building to something, like pretty damn well, it feels kinda intense, when he repeats "For worship someone" (the second time that is, the first time is still totally flat) then you hear the yelling "I am the view, and for a split second you might think it'll work, and then he yells I AM THE TABLE, and if that didn't ruin the moment enough, he says it 3 more times getting even louder each time, this song is fucking legend, I AM THE TABLE is the metal version of "Oh hi Mark" it's just so wonderfully botched you have to love it.

LOL. We were just talking about the movie "The Room". One of the all time greatest BAD movies around. It's difficult to get much worse. But that's what happens when you write, direct, produce, and star in your own movie. I watched the Riff Trax version of it. It made it somewhat bearable.

I'm just now getting into metal that isn't numetal and of course to go along with me being a hipster I start with less mainstream stuff like Horrendous.

Band is actually from California, and the characters look to be Chinese instead. I have no clue where I got the Japanese from. Either way it's still good.

But now I'm listening to this drone doom album that's basically ambient music for disturbed people.
