is that a mod thing or somethin’
as for me though, it was fixed, but it did that one thing again a day ago, where it’d say someone posted something recently, when it was HOURS ago. But it was fixed, so that’s good.

I haven’t had any problems lately. Works fine with me now.

the ‘internal server error’ thing still seems to occur. if it happens when posting a pm, i think it loses the message.
just a guess; the pm system seems to be a lil buggy lately.
awfully paranoid, arent you?

@scottied , Still occurring. I had the issue happen 3 times between 9:04 and 9:12 this morning (2/27/2015). I checked the error logs and saw nothing for that time frame.

I don’t know what the hell you guys are doing then. lol. I will probably get a freelancer to look into it again unless you have any other suggestions. I have been all over the site (though not so much on the forums) and haven’t seen the issue in the past few days. Does it only happen when you post, or does it happen when you’re just browsing?
Does anyone else still have the issue?
While I’m at it, anyone know someone who can optimize the site for mobile? I’d much rather pay a Juggalo to do it than some dude in India.

@scottied , unfortunately I am unfamiliar with wordpress for getting it working with mobile. I tried my hand at it but in the end I removed the things I did since it didn’t work for everyone and made it difficult for some people to post from mobile browsers. I got it to work well for me but that only helped about half of the mobile users, the other half said the changes made it worse.
About when it occurs: I’ve had it occur during posting on the forums, just reading the forums, and even on the front page.
Nothing gets posted in the error logs at the time of the error so it makes it difficult to track the issue.
I wish I knew someone familiar with WordPress or SimplePress.

Just googling the error message brought up this
https://wordpress.org/support/topic/the-server-encountered-an-internal-error-or-misconfiguration-and-was-unable-to-c-3
Have your tried deactivating all your installed plugins and refreshing the page? If you cannot access admin, you can deactivate all the plugins by renaming the plugins folder to anything you want via FTP. Then, clear cache, refresh and try again. It’s been my experience that most 500 errors are caused by a bad plugin. If it does not go away after you do the above, then it might actually be a problem with your server and your hosting provider will need to look into it. I have encountered the same errors various times and, so far, it has always been a bad plugin causing the problem. Then, you have to activate them one by one until you reach the one that causes the problem. If you can, just click on the browser’s arrow to go back to the plugin page, deactivate (you might get the 500 error because of the cache, ignore it) and refresh. Then, just delete that bad plugin or leave it deactivated in case an update become available that fixes it.

And another:
Cause
This error can be caused by a variety of issues but is most likely caused by a corrupt .htaccess file. Check to see if there is an .htaccess file in the directory where the error is being generated or any directory above in the tree. If so, temporarily rename the .htaccess file and refresh the page. If the error does not reappear, the .htaccess file is the issue. Repair the file or leave it disabled.
If you encounter further issues with the renamed .htaccess file, revert its name, and try restoring it from a backup.
Most of the time .htaccess issues are caused by trying to overwrite PHP settings, being uploaded in binary format or permissions issues.
Resolution
Be sure to upload .htaccess files in ASCII mode
Set the permissions to 644, which makes it usable by the server, but prevents it from being read from a browser.
If you are trying to make changes to PHP settings, be sure to make changes to your PHP initialization file.

Almost the entire error log was flooded with just one error. I commented out the section in the code. It deals with a type of audio playlist that we don’t utilize on this site. @scottieD, Is it ok if I backup the error log and flush it clean so we can see what new things pop up more easily? Since I commented out the code, it isn’t writing to the error log every few seconds.

Is it me or has the site now become lightning fast? I wonder if that one error was the whole cause of it all. I’m going to cross my fingers and see…
@everyone , please let me know if you see that error any more today.
[edit]
And the error may still happen again till I get the OK the backup/purge the error logs since if an error does occur (which sometimes happens especially when an image upload has corrupt image data) it will have to write to an error log that has grown out of control.
