Dayum….just like the old AOL chat days. Does anyone else remember the profile pages you could set up? It was myspace/facebook before they existed. Back in the golden age of 56k dial up XD
Son back in my day it took four hours to download an album off the internet, and sometimes they were labeled wrong and you wasted your time…and god forbid somebody needed to use the phone cuz youd have to start over.
I still remember the elian gonazles pic with the budweiser wazzup commercial dubbed in the backround…Now THOSE were memes.

First porn site? A jpeg site called TheHun.com or .net. This was wayyy before it was practical to stream or dl videos.

i used to do a lot of crazy shit with telnet, and some of the other protocols from around then.

Old School! Yeah!. I was around in the telnet day before there were graphics. I remember my 300 baud modem, then my 1200 baud, and my first 40MB HD that was a huge brick and thinking there was no way anyone could fill up 40MBs in a lifetime. I remember phone phreaking and blackboxes. My first computer had an 8086 processor at 2.3MHz (Not GHz, Lightning fast at the time) with an 8087 math co-processor. That’s when you had to move jumpers on the motherboard to install any hardware. People talk about building computers now days and I chuckle. Everything now is plug and play, a child can build a computer now.
Memories of my teenage years in the 80’s…
