Absolutely! They’re probably in my top 10 biggest musical influences of all time. Easily in the top 25.

My favorite album? The self-titled second one. I used to listen to that shit on my Walkman every dreary morning on the bus to school. “Dummy” is classic of course. I need to try to get into “Third” again; it put me off.

But to me they are the epitome of trip-hop. Tricky, Massive Attack, etc have their moments but Portishead for me are the most original, consistent musicians. And I love Beth’s voice.

Little known fact: the beat from Three Six Mafia, ICP and Twiztid “Just Another Crazy Click” samples Portishead.

Used to be heavily into them. Look up Groundbreaking in the dictionary you better believe you’re going to find Dummy. They made some of the most beautiful music ever, no question about it.
