G Mo did take little jabs at MNE here and there the last year. The way he is though if he had beef with them I think he’d talk a lot more shit. Plus various MNE people still like his posts.
Could be starting his own label and maybe use the Welcome To the Underground label as distro. He does have his own following and he might be in a situation now where its better if he goes on his own and gets more of the $.
Idk why but him doing a joint album with Blaze would be cool

Last I heard GMO was working with George to set up his merch site. Whether MNE is handeling his store/shipping like they do for Rittz idk. MNE can’t do much for an artist except get them established. GMO sold good and was successful at touring. He no longer needed MNE. In turn MNE cant really do anything that he cant do himself now. No reason to give them a cut except when using them to ship merch(if that’s the case). I like that these artists are all doing their own thing nowadays. I wish mayday would hurry up and leave strange music.

Same thing that Psychopathic did tor their artists: gave them a jump off point. That in itself can be priceless if embraced correctly. Seems like most of the artists wanted what ICP has earned at a faster rate and got impatient, to more or less success. Mostly less.
Mayday absolutely, 100% could thrive on their own. They are, without a doubt, some of the hardest working and most talented and driven artists in the history of that label. But they are smart, so I’m sure that they are biding their time for a couple good reasons.

Lyte is the only artist from either label (psy/mne) not taking advantage of it properly. The “jump off point.” I dont understand why he still hasnt put anything out since his Psy debut. Wake em up is such a banger. Hope it drops soon. Only brought him up because hes they only one not really releasing anything.
Back to GMo. I dont think MNE really intended to keep all those artist forever. I can see Otis/AMB leaving soon as well as Boondox. Hopefully taking what they learned from Psy/Mne and build their own labels. Probably be easier once the beef ends

Lyte was just another dude to me until I saw him live at the DCGCON. I even caught it halfway over already, and he was still FREAKING it.
He strikes me as one of those artists that is better live than on an album. Too much energy to be constrained.
Ouija Macc is pretty good in both areas, but better on an album. Put them together and you got a cool future Psychopathic project that sadly will never be.

G-mo skee is definitely not on the label anymore. His stuff has been scrubbed from the MNE store while they still carry Gorilla Voltage and LARS stuff.

I’m sure we will get a story sooner or later. I’m very positive he’s gone. Very Strange of G Mo Skee. He’s usually very vocal about everything, but eventually he’ll talk about the elephant in the room. Crazy to see MNE removed everything of G Mo Skee when ICP still has Twiztid CDS on Psychopathic Merch.
Little side note. Never would have imagined Lex Masters would out last G Mo. Ive always found Masters to be very generic for the most part. I’ll admit hes gotten better.

I like G-Mo, but he was very one dimensional. Each of his releases on MNE were identical. Each of his releases since he started putting out mix tapes have been, for the most part, the same.
That’s pretty on par with Gorilla Voltage.
Lex has been able to diversify his flow with his last LP and especially these recent EPs.
Unless it was a contract thing though I assume it comes down to sales. Now I wouldn’t have thought Lex was outselling G-Mo, but maybe…?
You then have AXE who definitely could use with changing their shit up a bit, but they obviously sell. Probably better than any artist on the label except Twiztid.

GMO sold pretty good and all of his merch sold out for the most part. His contract expired and he wanted to be 100% independent. He was getting a lot of new fans over the last year and half while doing his video game streaming and was getting upset that the MNE store didn’t have much of his shit restocked. Last I heard george(MNE) was helping him get his merch site up and running. I don’t think there is any bad blood between them. I think he was just at the point where he could do most of what MNE was doing for him. They might still be running his merch, they run Rittz’s merch

maybe he is. and maybe there’s just…nothing to talk about? it doesn’t always have to be some deep, dark, hidden secret of why someones off the label. Maybe he just decided it was a better business decision. Maybe the plan the whole time was for him to just ride out his contract, get new fans and then do his own thing again.
Like i said pages back. If there WAS some sort of huge beef or something, G-mo, out of EVERYONE in MNE would be the last person to not talk about it.
as for his merch not on the site anymore? could be the same thing. maybe he figures he’d get a bigger cut selling it somewhere else. Maybe it was just part of his contract. Maybe MNE just doesn’t feel like they need to ride off the success of someone who’s no longer on the label – although that doesn’t explain people like LARS and gorilla voltage still being there.
really my point is, we don’t know anything about why this is going on. probably never will. nobody on the label or G-mo is making a big deal out of it so like, genuinely, who fucking cares?
