I can't wait to be honest. While I'm not expecting the sequel to hit the same as the original, I think Mono is going to put all of his effort into this one and we're gonna get something fresh. The original Chainsmoker was a very personal record for his life up to that point, I'm hoping he stays in the same vane but minus all the PSY diss stuff.

Let me start off by saying that I have a lot to say about the original Chainsmoker, and it's mostly negative. It is, to this day, a least favorite from the entire Psychopathic Records album history. I could go on about it for hours. But this is not about that album.
I may actually listen to this. I'm betting it's better than the original Chainsmoker... for cynical reasons, because I don't think Mono can make one as dismal and un-entertaining as that one. He can only come out on top... but for realistic and optimistic reasons, Mono is a much better rapper than he was in those days. I don't love MNE music, but I am confident that this Chainsmoker 2 will be better than the PSY one.
For the love of God PLEASE leave out the subliminal disses, Monsieur Metric. You won't, I know, because it has conquered your life focus, to your detriment. But if you did not diss once, it would give this unheard mystery solo album so much more intrigue.
I'm kind of excited to hear it.

don't care for it, I have honestly not listened to anything Twiztid released since leaving psy
they got next to no money from me ever since they left
but I did buy their Funko Pop two-pack for $30 and regret it because it's now on clearance for $9.99
just skip to 12:05 of this video, that is what I call an ultimate find 100's of psy CDs for next to nothing at a flea market most with concert ticket stubs.

The original Chainsmoker was Twiztid's first misstep. Boring album, even moreso now we know Monoxode made it as fast as possible to get money for child support payments

If Jamie does not "sing" a single word on this, and paul just raps and keeps it hip hop, I'll consider it a success.
Jamie singing in most tracks from Mutant wasn't bad at all, to me. It just worked. But God oh Gawd, I can't get into his nu metal emo whatever the fuck that is style.
I am relieved to find that I'm not the only one that disliked the original. Does anyone have a favorite track at all? I don't really. Maybe I'll give it another listen. Been forever.
So I had this friend, Dave (r.i.p.). He was from NY like and me and we parted ways for years, as he moved to FL and tried life down there. He was never into anything ICP or PSY really, besides Halls of Illusion. Strict metal head dude. Anyway, he actually married a Juggalette down in FL, and got into the music a bit more.
He was not a bright man. Made some of the worst decisions ever. However, like a savant, he sometimes had moments of insight. One day he told me, so impassioned that he was shaking, that he "used to be down with all that ICP music... but that Monoxide Child album, man.." - at this point he struggled to grasp words that were suitable for such a travesty- "that Monoxide Child album... I just stopped listening to all of that stuff.. I just couldn't anymore"
The album made Dave completely disregard anything related to Twiztid, ICP, etc. To Dave, "The Chainsmoker EP" was an album of renouncement.
He and the FL Juggalette divorced, he moved back to NY, struggled with sobriety, and a couple years back, overdosed and passed.
It's not your fault, Paul, but damn lol

I tried to listen to it again, wasn't too successful.
"See Me" is the only stand-out. And that's reaching.
Once again, I'm positive the sequel will be better than this. He's older, (potentially?) wiser, and far more skilled as an artist than he was back then.
Sorry, Paul. Use this criticism as fuel, if you can.

I like Chainsmoker "That's Real" has always been my favorite song. The 2 Blaze hooks are on point, so are the skits. beat-wise it sounds like just another twiztid record, it being easily the most personal Mono has ever gotten on a project makes it different though.
I agree with BZA that it was their 1st weaker project.. every twiztid project up til then was great while this one was just good.. it's kinda some stuff you'd expect to hear on a cryptic collection. meanwhile CC3 dropped before chainsmoker with great songs, which didnt help..

I dunno, man. I always liked the chainsmoker LP.
Is every line and track an absolute game changer? Nah. Some of the shit mono said in that record are kinda fucking stupid. But I still dig the project as a whole. I genuinely don't get all the hate y'all have for it. I could see not liking it, it not being for you, whatever. But it's not like this is BAD. It's only "fine" at worst.

All these comments saying this was the first weak Twiztid project, and I wonder if ya'll forgot about Mirror Mirror?
What did you find weak about M/M? I loved it when it dropped, it was dark (the purple and black theme especially) and had that aura of being right before the 6th (when it was still the end of time consuming us all).. every Twiztid release after just didn't sit right with me.

To me it feels like a lot of ICP/Twiztid's solo stuff had the same issue, a lot of bland throwaway songs that don't have the same magic as their group stuff. Like mentioned it sounded like B sides, songs that were really about nothing and bland beats.
Plus the imagery is fucking horrible, I know Twiztid always take dumb photos with their mouths open but I'd rather that over whatever this picture is lmao

Oh, it's absolutely weaker than their group work. No argument there. But over all chainsmoker is mid at worst, all I'm saying. Seems like a lot of people here act like it's the worst album ever released on PSY. And I just don't think it's bad enough to justify the strong reactions against it.
