Welll fellow ninjas, this show marked the end of an epic 2 weeks for me. I saw the first show of the Canadian tour 2 weeks prior to this show, in Toronto. The following weekend I flew out to the province of Alberta and caught 3 of the shows there, and then flew back to Toronto Monday morning as to not miss any work. Then to cap it off last Friday I flew to Vancouver to catch the final show of the tour. I’ve lived in Toronto for over 10 years but I grew up on Vancouver Island, which is about a 1 hour and 45 minute ferry ride from Vancouver. Twiztid played a gig on the Island as part of their tour the night before Vancouver, in Nanaimo. Too expensive to book work off to make that Thursday night show, but it was well worth the cost of the flight for just the one show in VanCity. My Vancouver homie forgot to buy a paint brush so I had to stick to a simple design because I was reduced to using my index finger to put the facepaint on quickly before we headed down to the venue. I ended up with some Heath Ledger Joker inspired Blaze facepaint. As my homies said, they could tell what I was trying to do

The shirt I’m rockin is special to me, it’s the Juggalo Express shirt myself and 30 other ninjas from around the globe received when we boarded the bus in downtown Manhattan in August 2011, on our way to the Gathering. My profile photo is actually all of us posed in front of a Walmart in Kentucky on our way to being in Shangri La for four days. This is the shirt back

Now for some reason the doors for this show were 7pm, and when we arrived just after 10pm we realized they weren’t fuckin around. Whitney Payton and Aqualeo had already put down their sets. At the other 4 shows on the tour I attended the earliest Whitney went on is 10 pm,Then Aqualeo after her. My guess is that Twiztid wanted to get a head start on making it to Oregon for their next tour date, and who knows how long the border crossing can take sometimes. We started to double fist beers and survey the Juggalos in attendance, I snapped some shots of the crowd(with my homies in some of the shots )-

TWIZTID’s set was awesome. Juggalos were singing along full voice to choruses of songs you don’t normally hear being repped to the level they were. Jamie and Paul seemed genuinely touched by the love shown by the ninjas in attendance by the end of the show. After they finished their last song they let the beat play on and they addressed the crowd for about 15 minutes. They cracked Poutine and French jokes lol, they thanked all the artists on the tour, giving mad props to everyone. They also thanked by name all of the people that made the Canadian tour a big success. Most of the shirts at the merch booth were either sold out or just had weird sizes left available. Very memorable set put in by Madrox and Monoxide-

Hopefully TWIZTID comes back and rocks Vancity again as part of the fall tour.I definitely will fly out there for the show if they do. Here is a review I just discovered by HipHopCanada from the dope Vancouver show last time-
Twiztid live at Vancouver’s Rickshaw Theatre [Review]
Vancouver, BC – Juggalo’s from across B.C. descended upon the Rickshaw Theatre to witness the legendary horrorcore group Twiztid perform their first show ever in Vancouver. Hordes of people sporting the signature juggalo face paint assembled outside the venue keeping the energy rising long before the main acts appeared.
Twiztid fans refer to themselves as a “Family.” This was exemplified throughout the night with chants of “FAM UH LEE” breaking out at any given point and complete strangers treating one and other as their own. A great sense of community filled the air.
The opening acts had great energy with notable performances from RC the Hazard, J-ClaWsin, and Born Stoned. Supporting the Twistid Abominations Tour was Aqualeo from Texas, who displayed commanding presence and had tight choreography between the duo.
Mosh pits are a rarity at hip-hop shows but seemed to be of second nature to these fans who kept the energy chaotic with the pit that kept the center moving all night. When Twiztid finally took the stage the crowd erupted with emotion. When they performed popular weed anthem “So High” the familiar aroma of cannabis wafted throughout the building, so much so it seemed to muffle the smell of spilt booze and sweaty bodies. Mr. Madrox’s vocals were gritty and consistent while Monoxide spat with versatility and executed skillful breath control. Both rappers abilities as commanding emcee’s are undeniable.
Besides the sound inside the venue being not the greatest, what lacked in volume was made up for with a great sense of community and performers who really seemed to care about their fans. Having the ability to bring different people together and treat another like family is an amazing feat. If anyone attending didn’t know what it meant to be a Juggalo before the Twiztid concert, they sure as hell knew afterwards.

KFV may not be there. He is trying to raise money to hire a lawyer in order to cross the border.
