If I offended anyone else because I hate the Confederate flag, though, I dont care. 

On a side note, a very tall African American gentleman just collapsed in my dispensary. He just flew in from Mississippi and I believe was suffering from a combination of elevation change, lack of air (it's a small building with not much ventilation) and being too damn high beforehand (from what he said). We carried him outside, gave him a cold bottle of water and got a stable, sober friend of his to get him to safety. If he would have had a Rebel flag on his person, I wouldn't have cared, despite my ramblings. He is a tax paying human being like the rest of the world.

It reaffirms my stance 100%. The gentleman that excuses slavery because it was "okay society at the time" is just an example of why I shake my head at most people. 

It's kind of like if we were in an alternate dimension where it was the norm at that particular time and society to stick kittens up baby's  assholes every Winter Solstice. You may be in that "norm" of society at the time, but being a human, you may become reviled at the screams of the kittens and the human babies as this act happened. That is an uncontrollable HUMAN reaction. When you hear cries of anguish, terror, despair and pain, you are instantly alerted physiologically and mentally that THE THING THAT IS HAPPENING IS WRONG. Perhaps mob mentality psychosis diverts that train of thought..? Is it just like Shirley Jackson's "The Lottery ? 

Likewise, imagine owning an African American slave. An entire human being. Its "the norm", right? Okay, I'll buy that for a second. It's as normal as muskets, home-churned butter, taxes and disease. Within the microcosm of your lifespan, you witness the paradigm shift of slavery becoming abolished, among other new race based evolutions. 

The general mood now is that "slavery isnt really that great.. in fact, it may be bad." This is akin to us finding out that certain foods are bad for us. In earlier times, any food that gave us nourishment was good food. Now that we have stabilized (perhaps too much) our habits, we are getting the time and incentive to study the foods and chemicals that we add to them. It is an evolution of human living: becoming more self-sufficient enough to reflect on ourselves and our behaviors. Now we can keep working to try and perfect an impossible goal! Become healthier and longer-living and eventually explore the cosmos forever and ever.

The mood then becomes "slavery is DEFINITELY, 100% BAD." We made some unspeakable errors in our group thinking. Goddamn, we are awful. Deep breath.... we need to do our best to make sure we LEARN FROM OUR BEHAVIOR. 

So in relation the the healthier foods comparison, why not just learn the right (or best available) lesson? We have easier access to food now, so that it isnt even our main priority after water and oxygen! Now we have enough for it to kill us due to it's nutritional factors and caloric content! Our sedentary lifestyles arent meshing with this new world! So we study it and WORK ON IT. 

How does a displayed Confederate flag help us work on it?

Agreed and it sucks that modern slavery and human trafficking arent more heavily put into the common media mind.

Also agreed that people can choose to value what they want, that is their dumb mistake. I'm not going to argue weed with you as much as you want, I have won that war. 

Paradoxically, I feel in extreme cases that people shouldn't be allowed to do ANYTHING that they want. That is madness. So basically what we've been saying this whole time. The rebel flag isn't the same symbol it used to be. What ever it meant in the past has changed for most who fly it now to represent southern pride. I don't agree with it, but I can't stand against it when that is a general over all meaning behind it. Far different from a swastika that still represents the Nazi party and white supremacy. Personally, I don't have much respect for the idea of wanting to wave any particular flag. I'm still fairly certain that there is more racism behind people waving the blue lives matter flags than those that wave confederate ones.

We like to pretend we have liberty because we have more than others. I certainly don't feel liberated in the gulags. Hey, I do have a choice in which gulag I want and an up hill, disadvantaged battle to try and build my own against greedy and immoral corporations that will do anything in their power to prevent me from escaping the gulags.

I agree.

The right to fuck children? No. Hang anybody that dares to fuck a child.

...but treating pedophilia in a way that turns them into harmless members of society because sexuality isn't a choice? Now there's a thought. Controversial? Unpopular? Yeah. Absolutely. People are stupid, though. And I am far from afraid of being hated for speaking uncomfortable truths in the face of belligerent ignorance that refuses to hear something that contradicts what they refuse to question out of it's taboo nature.

Blue Lives Matter is the most full of shit of the entire thing. But I'm not getting into this one today. I've said my piece enough about how I feel. . . Today is the final day of a 7 day stretch, then my wife is going to SLC for 3 days, so it's just me and the kids. Looking forward to it, hoping the weather is nice.
