I think black culture is far more diverse these days and I rarely ever meet a black person that’s swagged out. Much more white people.
Emo spawned from Punk Rock. It’s sort of gothic in a sense, almost like a slight touch of goth added to punk rock, but no. Emo spawned from punk rock.
And hipsters were wiggers before wiggers were cool. The funny thing is, that is actually true. Hipsters were the white people that were a port of the whole black jazz and blues style back in the 40s.

Also, muscially, Emo did not spawn from punk. Punk became thrash, thrash still exists. Glam metal came out of nowhere, then Grunge started and put a stop to that shit. Grunge became nu-metal.
Emo came more from indie rock crossing with pop punk (which is not the same as true punk) and post-hardcore.
