Donation awards and actual activism are different things. Easy E being invited to the Republican National Convention was because of all his donations he had made to charities. Trump in ’86 receiving the Ellis Island thing was because he donated money and wanted to be seen as a supporter to ethnic minorities. We can look at comments Trump made regarding the Central Park Five to understand he is a piece of shit.
