Also, fuck I forgot about “24”. I love both versions of the song, so I total there are 4 beats because each one has 2 switch ups.
Shaggy dominates on that track. He really sounds like a fucking murderous bastard that takes glee in his activities. And that shit gets me pumped.

Gotta be Rollin’ Over
Runnin backwards up a wall, Shaggy 2 Dope in this motha fucka
You talkin’ to your boy, the silence is for suckers
So I’m out there, throughout the year I’m right here
Don’t stare like a bitch, bitch buy me a beer
I mean, this dude just ran backwards up a wall and all he wants is a beer for his trouble.

He smoked that feature he caught that beat seamlessly. “tantalizing tender” “I’m a Michiganee coming straight from the D”
That’s from I’m the Only 1
Yeah, the remix was called “She Said”. Technically my bad but its just the other title.
I possibly like the remix more but its a tough one.
My bad, you just put me up on game. I usually don’t bump remixes all that much.

I don’t care what anyone says, I fucking love that EP. Crop Circles, Rollin Over and Rosemary especially.
Remember how much hate it got when they dropped it?

I really, truly do not get why people hate it so much. Additionally, didn’t the Clowns themselves produce the beats for that EP?
If I remember correctly, every song was pretty good. Even the one novelty track, “Deadbeat Moms” has it’s charms. Also, in the name of gender equality, it brings across some valid points.
When “Eye of the Storm” was released, I admit my brother’s opinion gave me a temporarily biased view. He didn’t like “The Tempest” and said that “Eye” was basically the end of their talent. However I love “Tempest” and upon finally listening to “Eye” find that it is also good. “Scatterbrain” is one of Violent J’s best raps.
Thanks for the inspiration, as today is my day off so I’m going to listen to “The Calm” on YouTube.

The Eye of the Storm was their tightest release between Amazing Jeckel Brothers and Bang Pow Boom.
I really only like ICP when Mike Clark is doing their shit. I don’t know if Mike did Eye of the Storm, but the songs on Eye of the Storm didn’t sound generic at all. Without Mike, they usually sound generic and uninspired. Something about Mike’s beats gets inside J’s head and that’s when we get the really good lyrics and flows. Also, Mike’s “beats” aren’t beats at all, they’re actual songs. I feel like Otis does the same thing in that he makes an actual song, but his music doesn’t seem to hit with Violent J the way Mike’s does.

Someone should mash both of these up.
Might be too short of a song for it to work, though.

I vehemently disagree. Ringmaster is my favorite Joker’s Card.
The Loons and Wagon Wagon are quintessential ICP in my opinion.
Plus Blacken Yo Eyes is whack to me.
Night of the Axe is fire, though.

Yeah, “Blacken Your Eyes” didn’t really age well.. as soon as it was released.

Shaggy has always lyrically been my favorite member of ICP, and I feel his lyrical prowess is often overlooked.
There’s an infinite amount of impeccable verses to be able to narrow it down to just one favorite verse or solo joint, but I’ll list a few favorites from ICP joints.
“Calm Down (2006).”
Shaggy’s vivid description of the psychological descent into insanity sends chills down my spine to this day. The human universal qualities of the content emphasizes the realism of the verse to a haunting degree.
I’m afraid of the dark and I’m afraid of the light
And I’m afraid that I might’ve killed a motherfucker last night
I don’t know, I’m just somehow bloody
Feels like I just stuck somebody
Bad dreams, I’m crippled in the forehead
I gotta be. It takes up a lot of me
You probably need a lobotomy (right)
Lookin’ in the mirror, I scare the shit outta me
And I fuckin’ can’t afford no pills
Layin’ in the dark, sweatin’ out night chills
Night spills into the dawn
Blood spills into the lawn
I don’t wanna go any place anymore
Don’t nobody care about a dumb, dead, shitty whore
It’s just me, myself, and I
At war with each other until we die…

Every verse on “The Opaque Brotherhood (2008).”
This was the tail end of Shaggy’s submergence in the depths of severe alcoholism. For many lyricists, this would work against them as a creative hindrance. However, in Shaggy’s case, the firewater stimulated a flourish in creativity. Feverishly attacking tracks with a relentless, chaotic, animalistic intensity. Coupled with descriptively detailed verses of mystic insight, the methodical righteous cleansing of evil forces to facilitate enlightened rebirth, brooding psychological introspection, personification, and spiritual rejuvenation. The content of Shaggy’s lyrical prowess shines immensely here. His verses on “Falling”, “Trapped Inside”, and “Withered” even consecutively tell an ingeniously individualized vivid story of psychological warfare (Falling), a near-death experience, (Trapped Inside), and spiritual/physical rejuvenation through the nourishment of the roots of the Lotus.
Miscellaneous verse examples:
Look once you see a flash like a shadow
Make it a double take your wife gets left a widow
Dark Lotus kinda like a boxer’s fist
Five of us packed together, covered up and ready to hit
We turn bodies to souls, souls to black mist
The devil’s most cleverest trick is to make you think he don’t exist
We opaque, translucent, an eternal brotherhood
A secret society buried deep up in the woods
– The Opaque Brotherhood.
Slow I.V. drip I’m layin’ on the table
I can feel them cuttin’ me, I’d move, but I’m unable
Hot tears pour from my eyes down my cheek
You can hear the beep from my biosigns is gettin’ weak
Commotion, they must’ve removed the wrong organ
I overheard them sayin’ I’d be dead by the mornin’
So now I’m trapped here waitin’ to die
Make peace with the beyond, close my eyes, and say goodbye…
– Trapped Inside.
Once again it’s last curtain call, no need to fight it
The scriptures of the brotherhood opaque, have all been recited
My pollination will float through the air, and keep carrying on
The moon shines its light on us once again, for that I thank God
Now we out, with an unquenchable bottomless thirst
We going out in a blaze of glory, so call up the hearse
You can pick off all the leafs, but yet the roots still remain
Again with so much to gain, flourishing in the black rain
– Withered.

“House of Mirrors (1994).”
Shaggy geniously portrays The House of Mirrors: A metaphorical construct representing the karmic sum of an individual’s negative actions. trapping them in eternal reflection upon a life of immoral unjustness.
Magic wand, magic mirror
Timeless clock says death is near
Death is here, death is on
My king bishop takes your pawn
You can’t break House of Mirrors
That’s bad luck for seven years
Only in my wicked realm
Of thee untold, now unfold
Thinking back, what you do
Buy a richie home or two
Even though some down and out
You keep what you could live without
You’re the beast you never knew
This reflects the things you do
Others starving down the block
Richie’s heart is like a rock
First I grab, then I stab
Cut you up into a slab
Grind and twist, flick my wrist
Toss you in the magic mist
Look into Halls of Glass
Every mirror shows the past
With no love you kicked us in the face
Now your place is in the House of Mirrors
