this album is indeed dope. I misjudged Dubbla, I really like Crystal Skull but attributed all of its good points to VJ, assuming that he was responsible for pretty much everything that made it a good album, especially seeing as I have disliked all of Dubbla's previous work. However, I'm happy to say that I was wrong, Asylum proves that even after VJ's "development" of his sound & character, Dubbla remains just as strong.

This years gathering is turning out to be really bad IMO.
complete and utter nonsense.
you think it was bad, dlf, because you skipped it. the end.
and, as an aside, aint nobody spent seven grand on nuthin.
i wasnt there, but forum people were, and they can give you far more accurate figures.
[no, aint listened to asylum yet. just got back, n all.]

way better than Crystal Skull...I liked CS but it was very obvious how heavy of a hand J had in the creative process...while I like what J does to develop PSY artists and understand it I also think he sometimes goes a bit overboard to where the actual artists voice gets lost...that's how I felt about Crystal Skull...it was fun but I would have liked it more had it just been J spitting most of those tracks
NOW this?
This is a Big Hoodoo album. I hear his own influence more than I hear J's this time around. Love the reggae influence on The Passage...really stands out as far as PSY tracks go...the voicemail at the end shows you what a humble dude Hoodoo is behind the paint and everything else...in general I thought his raps were a lot better this time around and the production was fantastic (I also liked the majority of Crystal Kull's production though)
if I had to choose my least favorite song it'd either be Psycho Love or Gogetem...Psycho Love doesn't really say anything different than the last 10 Psychopathic love songs have (my chick goes both ways, my chick likes freaky shit, my chicks a thug, etc) and Gogetem is just average to me apart from Hoodoo's verse at the end which gave it some more points...think putting Bonez in the group was a terribly forced decision just to give him something to do on the side since Young Wicked has KJC but idk...Bonez is just boring as shit to me and the song itself just didn't stand out
other than that I loved the rest of it though...can't wait to see where else he goes with his music in the future

Just got it in the mail a minute ago. Soft case? Did you guys get a soft case? I fucking hate soft cases.
I am sure it is gonna be dope I dig Dubbla but the soft case disappointed me.
Yeah, the softcase...bleh. Why do they do that anyway? Shit gets bent up and squashed inside my ever growing CD collection. But it's not a big deal.

Glad yall are diggin the record! I didn't end up doing any of the beats, but I "produced" the record along with hoodoo.. recorded, engineered, played additional instruments, and mixed it. It was a 2 year process!

well however you contributed to the album nice work because it came out sounding great IMO...nothing against Crystal Skull but I personally feel this is a much better all around album...Hoodoo sounded more comfortable and natural and even the songwriting I thought was much better this time around
On another note it'd be great to hear some more Kuma beats on Psychopathic projects! Your shits dope!
