Against the Grain w/ ICP has that Careless Whisper by George Michael sample I noticed. It’s around the 1:21 mark on the George Michael track. Not that anyway cares but just a little tidbit I noticed when listening to album and yes I know it’s stale that I know that George Michael sample. I’m an 80’s music fan

Pretty fuckin good record I have to say. Not a huge Hoodoo fan, but he came super correct.

That was doing my head trying to work out what it was from. I knew it was George Michael but not which song.

nice catch...always find their sources for samples to be pretty interesting lol that beat reminds me of something No Limit or Cash Money would have dropped in the late 90's/early 2000's lol especially J's flow on the 3rd verse

Definitely enjoyed this album. Great third album and debut album on his own label independently from Psychopathic altogether.

*edit*

Just got my hard copy in the mail first off its a real plastic jewel case not a cardboard slip or digipak also it's a real pressing not a cheap cd-r press. He's also gone the Ouija route of showing the allegiance and still having a hatchet man on the artwork despite it being on his own record label.

Because hoodoo released the album himself and is no longer signed with psychopathic. Him and ouija are “affiliated” but no one is under contract. Meaning they can keep putting the hatchet man on their merch and albums to create the illusion that they are still on psychopathic. That way all the juggalos that buy everything psychopathic releases will still buy it. They’ll tell you it’s so the artist can make more money but the artist is paying for everything out of pocket so of course they get all the money.

It's alright....definitely not feeling it as much as other people are in this thread. Maybe it'll grow on me more, but the only tracks that caught my attention after 3 listens are "7 plus 3" and "RIP". Everything else...is just too hip hop and not enough horrorcore.

3 listens? Why do we do this to ourselves?

Nothing against HOODOO. I dont like YW yet I have the full amb discog on my phone. I try but I can tell as soon as he or Bonez starts 'rapping' I aint gonna like it. Why keep trying? Same goes with Ouija. Hes just not my cup of tea at all and yet I force myself to listen. 'Maybe you'll start getting into it' I tell myself. Knowing full well it hasn't yet and I dont it as ever leaning towards a positive. Its weird.

I think it's the whole "family" thing. If an artist is repping a hatchetman and spittin horror rap, we feel like we have to listen because they are one of us. I think the juggalo family is still alive, but on a much more subtle level these days.

And maybe its time to be subtle.

I dunno, a few theories... many Juggalos say that ICP haven't been releasing quality music for this or that many years, or for some years here and some years there, etc... maybe if they just focus on themselves and not have to involve themselves with Blahzays, Hoodoos, Lytes, Loonie Goons, etc, then they will provide more satisfying material. So maybe these Juggalo affiliates should keep it that way for a bit.

Ouijja seems to be someone who truly appreciates what the extent of being Juggalo Psychopathic affiliated is. Those artists in the past who complained about what the label can and cannot do for them, then diss them... FUCK THEM! I don't care what happened. Being affiliated is priceless. If you utilize it in a mature hustler's fashion, it is a blessing.

Free head from lots of chicks, for life, for example.

I think it's because most of us got into it during the golden era of the family where they had the strongest roster, the most pride and the music was always guaranteed a certain level of quality.

Hoodoo doesn't reach that bar, Lyte doesn't reach that bar, Blahzay's legacy is always going to be tainted by perceptions of her and Ouija is too new school for folks. (personally, I think Ouija is the best thing that's happened since Twiztid).

People really hated AMB too even though I think God's Hand should be considered a Juggalo classic.

I haven't gotten too into Hoodoo as much as most of you all have.

Lyte is exceptional live. His albums don't hit that same feel.

Blahzay I never gave much effort into. The visual treatment she got, and her voice, remind me too much of female rapper friends of mine that I don't have the heart to tell they suck. But I will, if they ask my honest opinion.

Ouijja is definitely good. Even if he isn't for everyone, he has "It".

IDK, it cost Twiztid quite a chunk of change...
