In retrospect, "ruined" is a strong word. I enjoy hearing the guy grace most any track. But his slurring, confounding rhymes on most every track from that album.

Black Rain is my least favorite Dark Lotus album. Mainly because some of the tracks didn't click with me. Only liked Ka Boom, Hell House, Pass The Axe, My First Time, That's me.

My issue is lots of the tracks felt off the wall or corny sounding like Death Don't want you, or with the Lotus. But rather just ICP featuring Twiztid, Blaze and ABK. The other albums have a dark occult vibe that makes Dark Lotus feel like a different sounding group project rather then a normal collabo. Also of course shaggys drinking problem didn't help and ABK just didn't click with me. I was glad they didn't put Boondox in the group just to fill the void of the missing 6th member. By the time Opaque Brotherhood came out that is.

I had a huge appreciation for Opaque Brotherhood and its topics and sound. Mud, water air and blood had a fitting sound, and concept.

I'm very confident that Boondox wasn't around during that era. But I get what you mean.

Opaque and MWAB are the best damn Lotus albums ever.

This is more noticeable to me on Opaque Brotherhood. His flow on Heinous is just... so bad. It throws off the entire song.

Black Rain is my favorite Lotus album.

I think it's because most of us got into it during the golden era of the family where they had the strongest roster, the most pride and the music was always guaranteed a certain level of quality.

Hoodoo doesn't reach that bar, ...

Actually, I think Hoodoo hypothetically would have fit in the golden era and reached that bar, if he was around 6-9 years earlier. People still would have needed some time to get into him and his work, but I think with all the glory in this era he easily would have achieved that old Juggalo OG status. Or at least he might have. Plus, I think he might have been a good addition to a Psy supergroup; not necessarily Lotus, but I still would have been interested in that.

Dark Lotus talk so i gotta throw in my two cents. Shaggy is wack on Black Rain but not bad enough to ruin the experience (basically Shaggy in general honestly). I love pretty much that whole album. His weird ass yodel at the beginning of "She Was" is deff a low point tho. Fuck you thinkin Shags lol?

Tales and Opaque Brotherhood will always be my favorites. For the simple fact that those are truly the weirdest/darkest albums they have ever done (also the songwriting in general is way better imo). Twiztid and ICP's solo stuff has never gotten close to it as far as weird and dark is concerned. Songs like Black Magic and Trapped Inside are fuckin masterpieces and cuts like that are the main reason why I like any of this shit.

Mud Water Air and Blood is the weakest but I still greatly enjoy it. Coagulate is my favorite DL song ever even tho its on the lighter side of things.

What an odd song in general, but it has it's charms.
