I never really broke down songs like that though (although it’s an interesting way to look at it I suppose), I just follow what my ear hears. If it sounds good then I like it.   

Nothin wrong with that. 

I only give a shit about breaking stuff down because I compose myself, and understanding other people’s stuff and breaking it down is the best way to learn.

And ima just say it, I hate bonez, I’ve trashed on AMB before, even though I don’t do it as much now after hearing some of their better work, but he’s the reason why for the most part, that and the production. Anyways

I would like to thank Jiffy for giving me a perfect example of somebody who did what these guys wanted to do a million times better, what he linked was an “aquired taste” this on the other hand is something you PRETEND to enjoy so you can feel superior to everyone, the apex of hipsters, the final boss after you shot all the MISSIO fans to death.   

No, there’s an actual market for noisy drone music beyond pretentious pretending. While I can’t really say I enjoy the Frownlord’s music, I’m not completely against drone or noise or ambiance in moderation.

I know there is, but what you linked was just nothing, zero substance, a lot of these actually do try very hard and give something I can at least respect as music. Even if it’s approached in the most non-convential way possible, like I said a bit ago, atonal music is made to give an uncanny feeling among other things, and it’s built around sounding as different from normal music as possible. There IS artistry to be had. But, because of the nature of it, the artists have gone totally overboard and for a lot of them (not the ones I would consider good but the ones I think you have to pretend you like) are now focused as being as arbitrary as possible, it doesn’t give the feelings I’ve mentioned before because just nothing happens. Like listening to literal static for an hour, there’s nothing to them. 

I don’t hate noise music, I’ve defended it a lot, but there’s a subset of noise music that is just actually nothing.   

And people really enjoy it while not pretending. You’d be really surprised. The person that made that song has great taste, too. He also does lots of acid.
