Because like ouija he is mediocre as fuck. I can’t believe how long it took me to realize that they are mid. Worse than awful. They take the buckshot approach to music. Just rapid fire mid beats and flows to hope something sticks. You cant just slap a chapter 17 logo on shit and expect it to hit. Well, I guess you can, but it’s trash to me, low effort bullshit. If y’all love it more power to ya

Not that anyone gives a fat shit but, now that I’m on the subject, the next jokers card HAS to have one producer and/or beat maker. The generic beats just do not work for ICP. The last super solid album they had was the Might Death Pop. You could argue whether it’s because it’s a singular producer or because it’s particularly Mike E Clark. All I know is the generic beats do not suit ICP at all,
One thing that pretenders and people in general don’t understand, is that it’s the juxtaposition that makes ICP work. It’s the clean poppy chorus and the unique Mike Clark beats, set against graphic violence and dick and fart jokes.
the vast majority of the wicked shit rappers just don’t understand. They have dark lyrics, spooky imagery, and spooky organ or piano beats. It’s too much fucking horror.
it’s too dark and it just doesn’t work. If ICP had Anyone else besides Mike Clark they probably would have never made it, because he fucking GETS IT.

Says the guy that joined the forums in 2020, fuck outta here. Slum is a LEGEND around here, who desereves some respek on his name! All I’m saying is Slum’s name rings bells and he’s fucking right. Dogs Beats, Guts on the Ceiling, In the Hauggh, Southwest Song, Skitsofrantic, The Show Must Go On etc. And if you dont agree go listen to The Amazing Maze and try to argue that it aint poppy as fuck.

The best thing to hit the PSY radar has chopped out. WHY??
Here’s the best I can make of it-
A few months ago J did a live stream backstage from the first leg of the 3 Headed Monster tour, he was chilling with Darby O’trill and Ouiji. J started praising Darby’s grind while on tour and started comparing his work level to Hexxx without ever saying Hexxx’s name.
Basically J started making it seem like Hexxx wasn’t working hard enough on his raps or stage show since being signed to Chapter 17.
A lot of Juggalos criiticized Hexxx for having a boring performance at this year’s Gathering, his 2nd time on the main stage. Hexxx just performed by himself in a pair of locs and a tank top and rapped for half an hour, no hype man or any type of props, the stage did seem a little empty.
But here’s what I think really led to Hexxx’s departure-
Hexxx had his own thing going on before being signed. He already had a music video with over 100k views on youtube, and had released multiple albums which all had thousands of streams across multiple platforms.
A bunch of us were pushing online for him to be signed by PSY and this may have resulted in Ouiji choosing him as the first person to sign for C17, but who knows if Ouiji and Hexxx ever connected on any type of artistic level. The videos they did together seemed rushed.
The nail in the coffin for him being affiliated with Joe Bruce long term was filming that awesome video with Shaggy 2 Dope for the track “Just Another Day” while on tour with him and Clay. That video is destined for millions of views exclusively on Hexxx’s youtube channel – translation- Joe Bruce/PSY ain’t getting paid off it.
It also proved Hexxx doesn’t need help from Ouiji or Joe to keep putting out dope shit for the Juggalos, I expect a lot of fresh tracks from him in the future.
Hexxx was very vocal online in the last while about being left off all the tours Ouiji was going out on.
If only Shaggy and Clay were going to take him out on tour, then what was the point of being signed by Ouiji to C17?
Also there is rumor floating around that in January Hexxx was chilling backstage at JuggalOhio prior to performing and Ouiji kicked him out of the green room area and Hexxx was forced to go hang out in the crowd. Sounds like Ouiji’s sad attempt at being a “boss” and trying to create some type of hierarchy. I would’ve bounced off the label after that shit too….

Hexxx’s performance at GOTJ this year was pretty trash. (Darby’s wasn’t that much better but he had a hype man.) However, Hexxx did kill it when I say him on tour with Shaggy and Clay last month (and still no hype man). Hexxx did a free VIP at the show, if you purchased Demon Season, which was fresh and all the dudes in line in front of me said, “I was gonna be buying this album anyway, regardless of the VIP boost.”
The video for Just Another Day with Shaggy was an instant juggalo classic (of course cause there was a dope 2 Dope verse, but Hexxx more than held his own and still had the more solid rhymes IMO).
I did hear about the Ouija green room shit, but who knows if it’s true? I wouldn’t be surprised either way. You don’t want another artist on your label getting more shine than you who runs the label. Violent J taught Ouija that…

So this Hexxx person whose name I maybe heard twice before, has an album on Psychopathic Records? I didn’t even know. Guess I am getting out of touch, but I don’t care.
Slum is right about the juxtaposition of happy/poppy production vs wicked, gory horror lyrics. It is a sweet spot and it works…. the other tracks that the guy mentioned, the darker ones like Mental Warp, CPKs, etc are there because, well, those work, too. It throws some variety into the music to avoid oversaturation of a single vibe and it is great. Also, Mike P did CPKs (originally), and let’s talk about Mike P…
Because… he also “gets it” about the Insane Clown Posse, more or less. He pulls a good amount of the cartoony, innovative, accessible yet unique ear candy that Mike E Clark does, which works well with the Clowns.
Just look at Tales From the Lotus Pod, a blend of MEC and Mike P. It works, every song, in their own way. Even though my favorite albums are Opaque and TMWAB, the production on TFTLP stand out the most. That shit is clean and fitting to the vibe that they were trying for… there’s a range of moods in that album, but all clean and accessible.

That is a great point because that first album really did capture this mystical otherworldly vibe at times. I think black rain was a step back and then for me Opaque was the pinnacle in every aspect including the beats it took the foundation of the first one and cranked it up.
Go listen to black sand or witch trapped and really focus on the sounds. There’s nothing else quite like the sound captured on Opaque anywhere in the industry

I like Black Rain but it’s far and away my least favorite. Rushed.
