I don’t care that the word exists, I care that there are consequences to it’s usage.
Like I said, say it all you want but every time you say it you’re adding to the negative connotations associated to homosexuality. Hopefully some day you’ll learn that those consequences out weigh your desire to use it.

Because you can’t redefine a word based upon you’re own usage, it’s defined by the usage of the masses and you fail to consider how others view it and how it effects them. The word is still used very heavily by bigots for bigoted reasons despite how you use it so it’s not us not letting it change it’s us not letting you pretend it’s use has no impact. It’s a case of your own arrogant selfishness.
As for the effect, it comes from the fact that homosexuals are literally beaten down, murdered and treated like garbage by people that use faggot as a term to dehumanize and shame them. When you use that word it’s going to bring that feeling of dread and fear and hate despite what you mean because they don’t know you. It’s not over sensitive people, it’s not baseless assuming, it’s a very justified reaction. You can’t change that. And you’re free to use it how ever you want and no you’re not a bigot just for using it. But don’t pretend like there is no weight to the word or that there is nothing negative attached to it. Because that’s just naive and delusional. It’s a bad habit. We all have bad habits. Yall gotta quit thinking that you can say what ever you want with out repercussions.

I never get offended by anything. I do understand that not everyone is the same. I guess it comes down to being sensitive or not. I come from a Croatian family and men are brought up to be very masculine with thick skin. You sorta have this thing instilled in you that you can’t show any weakness emotionally. I would normally think that people like you need to grow a pair of balls and realize your weak for getting ‘offended’ by words. But I still respect your opinions. You just have to realize not everyone is like you and not take what everyone says so seriously and literally.
