Wow, never knew he was gay. J just casually announces it in this interview (an interview with a really liberal music site too, where he seems to really go into apologizing for past wrongs)
That's cool though, just found it wild that's the first time I ever read that.

Oh, and for anyone who doesn't fell like combing through that article
J-
At the same time, we were also crazy homophobic back in the day. And now, my daughter says, “Dad, why did you say this?” And I say, “Because your dad was a fucking fool.” I hate to blame Ice Cube, but we wanted to be like Ice Cube. We wanted to be like gangsta rap, and gangsta rap said it all the time. And we had a gay producer! Our producer was gay! And he didn’t give a fuck. It was us three in the studio — night and day, night and day — making these albums. It was something that didn’t come up.
tbh, I find this a bit odd. I know he's mentioned how his daughter was always trying to get him to stop saying Faggot, and as far as I can tell that's what he's referring to.
Outside of saying faggot they've never said anything actually homophobic as far as I've ever seen, with, idk, I guess you could argue slim anus is?
I mean in Ghetto Freak Show of COC he even called "finding out your son is a faggot" as an example of "dumb stuff rich men stress about".
Idk, in terms of rappers, you could do muuuuch worse.
He's prolly just being too hard on himself after Ruby called him out every day after turning 12.
I see no difference between a corpse and a sex toy

^ this was the low point of ICP's career. 100%. This is the song that I hope no one who is ever trying to debate me on ICP's moral compass will ever bring up lol.
And the shame is that it's quite catchy.
They have done other stuff anti-gay. Shaggy showed a hateful side in a Shaggy Show episode when he was younger. He disses "fruits" on tracks on one of my favorite Psychopathic Records albums ever, "Fuck the Fuck Off!".
It sucks but it is what it is. We have all done stupid shit. I'm bout to make a thread about it because I'm high as duck sauce and drinking.
I don't respect them any less. Every artist that you love, EVERY single one (no exception) has done or is doing wack shit.
Phil Anselmo has said racist, foolish shit on stage. Lauryn Hill, apparently, has as well. Chuck Berry videotaped women in a public bathroom. Steven Tyler "adopted" an underage girl from her parents.
The list goes on. No one is perfect. Some do worse than others. Maybe let the music do the talking...? I dunno...
For chrissakes, look at Michael Jackson. Some of the best music ever made, and.. well, you know.
Music is such a powerful force.
Does it transcend the person behind it? Does it transcend their actions?
Is the outcome more important than the person making the music?
Del Tha Funky Homosapien from "Deltron 3030".. the track is called "Madness":
"Simple minded people always point the finger
To bring it to a close as if life is their role, their path
When all paths are intersections
It all depends on the persons perception
When I'm mad as fuck you get shot
And to some it's bad luck
I believe you held something back for too long
It grew strong
And energy got its own will
And people think they make music still
But music is there with out you or me we just manipulate
For better or worse so let it situate
I get to make records and dough
Paid out the ass hole
And still seen as another face on the totem pole
Conquer, my sponsors are monsters
And everybody thinks that I owe them one
I'm glad I love music and life
Cause it's easy to see the pain and strife and end it all tonight"

I don't want to comment on this threadbut pretend I did
it was epic
In an alternate universe, you did comment. They were the dopest, most humbling typed words in online Juggalo history.
Then you said "SYKE!! DOWN WITH MINORITIES AND GAYS!!"
And Krunk posted a photo of Michelle Obama as a male and it made no sense.
Pigg came in and praised the infrastructure of Seoul compared to the United States and that set Smack into a rage.
Psyral then posted a cherry-picked pro-capitslism "factoid" about how the United States ACTUALLY has upgraded it's infrastructure 600% since Trump took office, then posted some cryptic stuff in a caption that had green font in front of a black background. It is approximately 14% valid.
Kuma drops in for the first time in awhile and marvels at how haywire the conversation has become, and that the truth is, HE was the producer that J was talking about, not Mike E. Clark.
Lucem composes a finely thought out and researched essay about how homosexuality and infrastructure and Muslims connect to The Terror Wheel played in reverse on a blood red moon that is about 75% valid.
Drunkalo happens by and mentions how he added a game room to his house. He shares a photo of his new puppy, Mr. Milenko. Several of us give this "whoops".
What happens next? If you roll a number between 1-3, turn to page 44. If you roll 4 or 5, turn to page 117. If a six is rolled, eat Monopoly and defecate Dungeons & Dragons.
Finally, Krunk takes that last bit as a thinly-veiled diss on Capitalism and posts some embarassing memes about how much of a fool I am.
When in truth, I am OMD, aka

I think any racism/hate speech is fuckin stupid. And in no way am I sayin that any of it is okay! But as far as the SV-Slow Your Role track goes; aren’t they playing the character of “Villains?” So they’re rapping about being the bad guy, doing bad shit...if they were rapping about good deeds wouldn’t they be the (never released) Soopa Heroz?

Soopa Villainz was an odd duck. Some tracks are super villain cartoony space thugs doing thuggery shit. And some are Esham and Violent J trying to impress eachother with their lyrics.
Listen to J's verse in "Slow Your Roll". Talking about how he has trouble explaining gay people to his kids.. how the fuck is that a Mr. Diamond super powered guy in a mask from outer space? Makes no sense.

Esham put this out there on a rant a few years back. He also said Madrox and Blaze were an item too.
Also G Mo Skee's allegations about J being dick hungry in a pilled up bender on that "pull his resume" too was suspect.
I personally don't care about anyone's sexual preference a past juvenile me wouldn't be so mature. I still like some songs by Young Buck and Tyler the Creator despite what's come to light on their behind closed doors business. If music bumps it bumps I'm gonna jam it.

Indeed. That album is fantastic. Shaggy by himself on an album is something else.
"Keep it Scrubbin" also has some of the fastest 2 Dope rhymes. Didnt know he was even capable of that style. He did it again on the last Dark Lotus album.
Here is another song that I enjoy the melody of but hate the lyrics. Go figure:

So they knew he was gay and they still said homophobic things, knowing he'd have to mix the song or whatever. That sucks.
The producer just heard lyrics that sound good on their beats. If it's Mike E Clark he clearly doesn't care bc he's Kid Rock's touring sound guy and Kid Rock has had some homophobic lyrics as well. He seems like the type to not want to censor the artist.

I think that was their thinking when they recorded it, but too many people think they meant it.
For a hot minute, the queer juggalo page I'm part of used to get randos messaging is that song and telling us we're not juggalos.
Its a shame that a lot of juggalos can't use critical thinking.
I hope Mike is comfortable with people talking about his sexuality. He's a boss who was responsible for a lot of my favorite music.
I love what j is saying though about his growing up and not wanting to say the kind of homophobic shit he used to say. I think it extends beyond the homophobia to include some of the sexist talk too.
Its nice to see them mature a bit.
If you really believed that all lives matter we wouldn't need to say black lives matter

I don't think its any of our business. I also dont think it was J's business to throw out there.
Its also a shame that we live in a world where somebody has to hide their sexuality.
