Has anyone formed an opinion on this 2-CD set? I'll be doing a more in depth review later on The Demon Angel, but for the most part, his cautious method of which songs to include paid off.

As for Para, it seems to be a real hit or miss compilation. First and foremost, the outtakes were apparently recorded between 1998 and 2000. The outtakes weren't re-recorded or remixed, with the exception of two tracks towards the end; however, the original 5 tracks thankfully didn't get fucked with. If anything, the masters were very slightly adjusted.

"Luv Me or Leave Me Alone" is decent. Sometimes, during a Myzery song, he decides to speed up his vocals briefly during a verse, and fails to match the beat. This song is a perfect example of that. "Gambla" has a chilled out consistent beat, and Myzery matches the music pretty well.

"Da Way We Live" is awesome. Shaggy 2 Dope is only on the intro and outro of the song, but it's good to hear him. The beat is solid and even Nitemare (close associate of Myzery in that short timespan) sounds legit. I feel like this song would have fit the Para La Isla EP, adding a pinch of west coast. "Spanglish" would have fit more than any other song on this release. I don't speak spanish fluently, but only judging via his flow, he pulls off both languages well. I feel like it was maybe cut because the beat has a small resemblance to "Para La Isla" via the horn section.

"Luv to Luv Ya" is nothing to write home about. It's just a depressing female chasing song. "All I Know Is Pain" has very little in common with the other Myzery track "All I Know Iz Pain". This song honestly sounds like it was remixed within the past couple years. It's not a terrible song though, but it really doesn't fit on this release whatsoever.

There's also a remix of "If I Ever Die", which if memory serves right, it's Str8jacket involved with this project; thus, it's not really an outtakes either. It fits better than "All I Know Is Pain" but still doesn't sound like it belongs here. The standouts are the catchy piano line and the faint guitar during the hook.

It also bothers me that nothing from The 4 Faces was included. I know that this is Para La Isla, but The 4 Faces recording sessions were literally during the same timeframe. It would've been cool to hear remastered versions or more outtakes, but most likely, Psy doesn't have the masters anymore. Plus, Myzery isn't a huge fan of that project.

So yeah, this compilation really is hit or miss. A rocky road for sure, but there are some bright spots here and there.

The Demon Angel review will be posted within the week.

I think both discs are jamming been jamming it non stop since got back from GOTJ. I won't do a deep dive extensive review but top five from it are: (in no order)

1. Eternally Bleeding

2. If I ever die (alternate version)

3. Gambla

4. All I know is pain

5. Possessed By the Devil

I didn't include songs from the original ep and the previously released "knocking on heavens door feat Violent J"/ "let me go feat ICP" songs

Where can you buy this CD?

And damn... 20th anniversary???

Makes me feel old. I remember buying the OG CD after I seen Myzery open for ICP. It is still one of my favorite CD's from Psychopathic.

I dig thee fucc outta these albums.

Seems like we got a bunch of ... Retro? Psy throwbacks at this yrs gathering.

To me it all added to the WHOOPSTOCK vibe.

Hey guys.  So I wasn’t even born when the first EP came out, BUT I saw his set at the gotj and had to get this. Loved it!  Both cds were fire IMO!  I finally feel like I have something worth playing a lot lately. I hope people don’t overlook this. Best thing I picked up at the gathering this time. Real Fam stuff right here

Yeah the cds dope but...Myzery and Spanish Sides live performance was lacking @bayareashaman and I witnessed it this year and @NoahFence and I peeped last yr.

I chalk it up to the fact they don't tour like that and only perform events for Psychopathic so they don't get the chance to sharpen there stage execution.

So I already got this at the gotj and I don’t know about the first disk being a rocky rd with bright spots or whatever. Both disks are the most impressive shit with the hatchet stamp on it in years, for real. I have to say that this shit is like insane level good! Props to Myz n Psy for this one. Maybe the best real rap album on Psy ever. Just sayin, shit is way worth it. And as for their set this year, I gotta say, they owned it! Me, a topless red head, a bald dude that looked a lil like Ryback in the face, a ninja that looked like Syn, a swol ninja in a Wu Tang shirt, another topless brunette, and a lo with a massive PR flag were all there in a group straight up losin our minds the whole set through. Maybe the good times were just contagious, but aside from a sleepy Spanish Side rapper that looked like lil Wayne and stumbled around too much, they tore the roof off the main stage frfr. Myz looked like a real demon up there, the shirtless guy in the panama jack hat was wild n climbed up the barricade to get us even more hyped, and the jumbo dude was all over the place and live as fuck! Props. The set though, i wish they would have swapped like 3 of the unknown hood songs for some known bangers like meat cleaver, the clay song, and the song he did wit Skitzo last year. Just some favs of mine though. The albums though, way worth the money

Thanks for the heads up. I checked a few days ago and it wasn't there. I'm curious but I'm not anticipating much.

If your not anticipating much you'll be pleasantly surprised. Solid handful of dope new tracks from each disc IMO than another including the previous material from 20 years ago. So that's a possibility of 10-15 good tracks out of 27

Finally gave it a few listens. It is basically what I expected. It sounds decent but theres nothing on it that really makes me want to listen to it again. I like being surprised, being challenged a bit, but there isn't any of that there. Aside from his voice, the album coulda been made by anybody.
