Yo,

So I will fully admit, I've been watching these for free. The other day, I was ready to pay for the month so they could get their money. The card I was trying to use is a prepaid, which apparently isn't allowed on Patreon. Man, I hate to say this, but I am so happy the transaction didn't go through.

What is going on? Violent J is late to half the stuff, and he seems halfway out of it when he is there. On the recent escape room video, he didn't even show up at all. I'll watch through more of it, but so far they haven't even acknowledged his absence. I know a lot of people speculate about drugs or whatever, and I'm not saying it's that. But to pay that much money for one month whenever one of the main dudes ain't even there half the time...plus all the technical issues.

Like for one of the JCW shows, when the ring girl kept going back from the ring...they're in the middle of a live show, and Violent J is trying to quietly get her phone number and talking to her every single time she walks past him. In the old days, it would be funny, as they would try to incorporate that into the show. Now it's straight cringy, seeing him try to do that on the DL in the middle of an event that people are shelling out so much money for.

I'm not hating; I do sincerely hope everything is okay. But it seems like whatever personal issues he's dealing with has made him less than motivated to participate. That's fine, but don't be advertising something, make people pay a bunch of money based off of that advertisement, and then not care enough to at least show up and fulfill your obligations. Full props to 2 Dope for getting his life together and becoming the face of the group, basically. But everything seems to be falling apart...even this board, with how few people participate in it now a days. I think that's a direct reflection of the lack of motivation within ICP. If one or both of them are too old to do this anymore, they need to be straight up with that instead of trying to recreate the original flavor in a half-assed way.

I don't know; do ya'll think I'm off with my assessment? It just sucks that these guys were my influence for so many years, and now all that fire, motivation, and passion seems to be gone.

I feel you. I watched a bit of the Neden Game and the way J was slobbering over those super young girls was really cringey. I assume they were all of legal age, but still, most of them were super young looking and J is almost 50, acting like he can barely contain himself whenever there's any kind of innuendo.

Ya feel me, bro? I'm going through that show right now, and it's honestly the most on point I've seen him recently, and he isn't very on point on at all.

Again, I'm not hating, but I worry he put so much confidence into himself because of his accolades, he never understood Joe the person, so it's all coming back as one giant mid-life crisis. I have the option to pay for all this right now...I like listening to Jumpsteady and Shaggy. J used to be the shine of the group. But now I watch Violent J, and it's like...bro, where's your passion? These are like lesser versions of the old Shaggy Show, which were completely free. I can't justify spending my money on this whenever certain participants don't care.

Yeah man. This shit is so fucking sad. I don't wanna accuse anyone of drugs or whatever but something is wrong. If you go back and watch that 6 Foot, Seven Foot video from a few years ago where he was fully loving life and on top of his game... and compare it to how he looks now, it's like watching 2 different people. Just 3 or 4 years ago he looked healthy as fuck. The guy was beaming. Now he looks like he can barely process a thought and he sounds like he would rather be doing anything other than being Violent J. Even the music is suffering. His verses just sound like a job to him. So little passion or drive. Props to Shaggy though, he's stepped way the fuck up to keep it going but the real issue needs addressing.

I don't want to speculate on finances or anything either but if they can survive without an income for a year or two, maybe he needs to go on hiatus and just find himself again coz he clearly isn't into whatever he's doing at the moment and his life isn't making him happy. I've followed these guys for over 20 years and it's clear as day that he's not who he was, even a few years ago. I'd rather not hear from them for a couple of years and have them come back on top, than keep having to listen to (and see) a downfall like this.

I know people change as they get older but this has gotten pretty drastic recently. I hope he can do whatever he needs to, to find himself again and people need to be stepping in and trying to help him because if I can see it, his friends and family can too.

Yeah, man. Even that science lab episode where he was so obsessed with making the girl take her mask off, and Jumpsteady and Shaggy were trying to keep things moving along. Like, this is HIS creation, and he doesn't even know how to keep things going anymore. Again, years ago that would be a joke and no one would care. Now, it's like you can tell they're trying to keep him in line. I really hope everything is okay.

Honestly, I genuinely don't think it's drugs. At least I hope it's not drugs - dudes in his 50s, has two kids. that's REALLY not a road anyone wants to see him go down at this point in his life.

to me, it seems more like a combination of mental health issues - which J's poor mental health is a well known fact. and a midlife crisis. I mean, think about it. with how old he is..His baby mama left him, the last girl he got with left him. His entire music empire is a shadow of what it used to be with pretty much everyone leaving the label to either go on their own, or join up with the guys that in his eyes are the bad guys, combined with the stress of keeping afloat both personally and as a business during the coronavirus pandemic? he has a lot of reasons to not be a great place right now, but hopefully it improves for him.

I haven't even watched a single second of these streams but these descriptions are sounding pretty despairing. Will have to check them out soon.

Gonna go out on a limb here and offer the approach of love. Not one of us knows even what a single day is like for these guys. I wouldn't want it. Just push love and hope for the best.

Sigh...

I think my issue is...for what I do, I'm not going to ask people to pay for my work if I completely lose my sensibilities. I'll know: take a break and come back when my mind is better. It's like they are expecting people to pay for this, and there is no sense of self-awareness. That's what bothers me the most.

These streams average out to be $5-$6 a piece which isn’t a whole lot of money, and the production can get expensive. Psychopathic is spending money and hoping to make some in the process. But too few are buying the streams, and I’m assuming he sees that as a failure. They have been doing this for 30 years and they’re consistently evolving and changing. Not to mention other props you get like the Ultra Live Monster Five coins, Peepshow EP and Yum Yum Lure cds.

So not enough people are buying it, which he sees as being a failure and instead of making more effort to make it better and making himself better, he continues to let it effect him negatively which, in turn, makes the streams worse? Clever...

Imagine you're a chef and people used to eat your food all the time, your restaurant was always packed out and you were making a fortune... Then people stopped coming and stopped eating your food. So instead of looking at how your food has changed and looking at how to make it better, you start skrimping on ingredients and pissing in your food, using rotten meat and not cleaning your work surfaces.

Maybe? I don’t fucking know and neither does anyone else, But Violent J. All I know is when they started these peep shows in October he was hyped up, and now he’s bored of it. How many other artist care enough to even put this kind of effort into trying something like this? I just paid $14.20 for the Docu-Stream just to watch the Tell All interview, but saw it was chopped up in between songs and decided not to even watch it.

So what they need to do is downgrade and not make what they're doing so expensive and complicated. For an average person, $60.00 for one month is a lot to shell out, especially for things like the Neden Game and the random other stuff that I'm guessing a lot of people aren't even interested in. With all of that comes microphones, someone running the boards, prop designs, someone running the cameras, etc. So of course they're going to take a loss on that, and the streams are going to come out looking like garbage because they don't have enough people to run everything all at once, which leads J into unnecessary depression, which makes the whole thing a loss, for both them and the people watching.

Whereas if they just keep doing the get togethers and talking to each other --which for me is the big selling point of everything--you get low production costs, minimal staff needed, and they'll make their money without a problem. There are so many things they could bring up, so many people from their past they could bring in. And props to them, because they have done that. The problem is, when you start going out and doing these goofy GOTJ bits that only appeal to a live, in-person audience...then that's where you run into snags. I'm sorry, but I'm interested in THEM. ICP, and of course Jumpsteady, and major props to him for probably being the guiding force behind all of this and coming to the rescue for Violent J multiple times now. But as far as all the bits involving people with shitty dreadlocks who try to act funny but can't...keep that for GOTJ. I'm not paying for that.

The fact remains: If they are asking people to shell out that much money for one month's worth of content, it is up to them, all of them, to take it seriously and figure out a way to make it both entertaining and cost-effective at the same time. Personally, I hope if J is going through some stuff that he's able to get it together and be fine. But business wise, if he's not in a position to come through on what's being advertised, then he needs to step out until he gets himself together. My main thing is not judging him on what is or what isn't going on in his personal life; taking emotions out of it, they should not be charging for something like this without making sure they can come through on it each and every time, especially when all that's required is simply showing up.

The price point on the streams is kinda high, and they are all available for free if you know where to look. The pandemic also decimated a big part of their fanbases wallets. They are trying to make as much as they can by selling tickets to the events, but is it enough to cover costs? Wrestlers and lighting & camera crews need paid.

If you had watched all the streams, during the pizza party [I think] J says that his feet are all fucked up. The condition of his feet, as he described, would be enough for any doctor to give him pain pills. How has this been overlooked in the thread?
