Excellent point. I don't think it happened on FFF because STr8Jacket is apparently the person they now have a problem with and he was there in some capacity for all the tracks, but whatever he did to piss off J and boot him off is what's causing the hold up on Yum Yum it seems. And Young Wicked had to be "cancelled" for his work on FTFOMF.

It just seems so ridiculous. I could understand if there was some legit beef or if someone was totally out of line and they only had a few tracks done and thought "eh we're not that deep into it, let's start fresh with someone else." But it sounds like they'll have damn near full albums done and then they have to re work all the goddamn beats just for spite or something.

It's a situation where if you've had it happen a couple times now where you boot someone off for whatever petty reason and feel the need to delete all of their contributions out of spite and spend a whole lot of time and energy to rebuild, it's time to examine yourself. It's just like if you have a couple of relationships with girls that end in the exact same way, you have to step back and be like "oh shit, I'm the problem."

I believe ABK also said in an interview that they didn't let him release Shapeshifter because he refused to take out the Young Wicked tracks. But he also said he would just release it himself if he can't work it out with Psy, and that hasn't happened either, so who knows.

Completely agree with this. I refer back to the Hitchcock quote: “you can’t keep bumping your head against reality and saying it is not there”. But I don't think J is done trying to make reality conform to him and not the other way around.

That back and forward between abk and psy saying they were just waiting for the other to finish it was weird

It probably went something like this

Str8Jacket: J here are some dope beats for the new project.

VJ: No, those are all wrong. They need to sound like this.

Str8jacket: Uh, ok. How about these (equally dope beats that are what J asked for).

VJ: No those suck to. Do you even know anything about making beats?

Str8Jacket: I do, way more than you. That's why you hired me.

VJ: You're fired. Get the fuck out.

Str8Jacket: Why can't you be more like Shaggy? He's cool.

VJ: I said get the fuck out. I'm going to put out subliminal messages now as to you being the reason Yum Yum is being held up and the juggalos, who are under my control btw, will turn on you.

Str8Jacket: Man, you need to get a grip. What happened to you?

VJ: Say one more thing, motherfucker.

Str8Jacket: I also fucked your niece.

VJ: I swear, one more word...

Str8Jacket: I'm going to go work for MNE.

Since this thread seems to be teetering along the thesis of "Someone's Mental Health (Allegedly) Deteriorating", have any of you ever witnessed someone go insane? Whether gradually or suddenly? Sometimes it happens so slowly that you don't even put two and two together. Other times it culminates into a bizarre and unfortunate snap. This would make for a good thread.

Yeah man, Same with Dementia. I've watched it happen twice in my life, once when I was very young (over a period of about 10 years) and didn't really understand what was happening to the person until I looked back on it, in adulthood and I watched it happen more recently (over a period of about 6 years).

The second time I saw it was to my girls grandmother. Her whole family were in denial about what was happening. I tried to tell them id seen it before and they would make excuses like "she drives a car, how could she possibly have dementia?" or "She goes shopping, how could someone with dementia go shopping?". Fast forward 5 years, the woman is forgetting to eat, shes shitting the bed because she forgot that she needed to go to the toilet, then she just fucking died.

Its rare that anyone on the inside sees a mental breakdown of someone else, until its too late. I guess they either put the changes down to people "getting older" or make excuses like "Oh hes just going through some shit. He'll be fine once he gets it out of his system".

You also cant convince someone theyre going through some serious mental shit if they dont wanna hear it but you can push them in the right direction.

Shits sad as fuck and its probably why its easy for us to make these calls (whether true or not) and for people on the inside to miss it.

Lol... "Captain Bruce! We've got to change navigation! We are literally headed for an iceberg! An ICEBERG! The whole crew agrees and we need to change direction!"

Captain Bruce: "Nar! Tis not an iceberg! Tis a 19 year old lassie's rotund posterior! We set sail at full speed!"

"Sir?! That ain't no damn lassie's posterior! What the hell is rotund? What in God's name are you-!?!"

BOOOMM!!

Back to the subject at hand... I'm fortunate enough to have a super small family, so I haven't had any grandparents experience in my life, which means I haven't had to see any elderly mental set deterioration. But I have seen people go temporarily and permanently insane on drugs, insomnia or mental illness. Currently enjoying the days when my mom is lucid enough to remember stuff from the past.

Is it prescription drug use issues J is having? Even 20+ years of nyquil use can't be good

I'm sure with the pandemic ending and being able to rock some Gathering shows, he will be back to his old self. Everyone has different needs to function in a healthy way. J may need touring, challenge, and positive attention to stay invigorated. Someone like myself can thrive during isolation, or at a show. Everyone is different.

Good times ahead!

I've wondered about the Nyquil use too. If they were using that shit even half as much as they've made it seem, at the very least they gotta be having some liver trouble or some shit like that.

That seemed like more of a Bizarr/Bizzar-era habit, right? I mean he talks about Nyquil a few times on those albums then barely mentions it again...

That's it!!

Like any "method actor", J has been trying to get into his Bizarr/Bizzar-era persona for the upcoming Gathering event!! They're doing a B/B show, right? What better way to relive the time than to pop Nyquil pills like a fiend? Getting back into that headspace, if you will. Daniel Day Lewis would be proud.

I appreciate the humor of this and chuckled at the Daniel Day Lewis reference but in all seriousness I'd say having them get back to popping absurd amounts of Nyquil would probably kill them at this point.

But yeah I think that's more of a Bizarr/Bizzar era thing at least that we know of more blatantly. I remember on those "Masked Ninja Reports" they talked about having mass amounts of Nyquil A LOT. And I think that was like AJB/BB era.

I just found this great clip of Daniel Day Lewis portraying Joe Bruce, talking to Otis about Paul Methric. Fascinating viewing!

Someone mentioned he started talking about xanax in the last few years, that's possibly a problem too
