"Fear is the mindkiller." Ghetto babies high-five me in the laundry room, I feed the old base head next door when he needs it, and occasionally thugs wrestle my laundry basket from me and carry it (even though I say I've got it.) May our charmed gutter life continue to infinity and beyond, and may every douchelo who works in the dark against their fellow man (u know who u r, cunts) get schooled ASAP by The Carnival. Maybe come to the Dirty South and start mouthing off about bigots and cis-heteronormativity or some such bullshit.

I just don't think taking guns will work in the US.

μολὼν λαβέ

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

HUGE difference between gun banning and gun control. I think everybody believes in gun control to some extent. You really have to learn that before reacting. Though, the assault rifle ban is what's proposed and it's been done before with nothing happening. Look at Bush. I mean the president not your wife's unshaven nethers. (Got em!)

You also have to be really naive if you think the average gun owning American can defend them self from the government. Look at Waco. We can do it much easier now.

I get the argument for having guns very much so. And I'm not personally against gun rights. I think it's an issue that expands past political affiliation with tons of people on the opposite side that agree with the 2nd amendment. Facts are facts, though. Gun control, or a gun ban, would be the quickest and easiest way to prevent mass shootings. Anybody that would physically oppose it if it became law is an idiot that will die. Most probably don't have the balls to put their guns where their mouth is. They sure as hell aren't using it to fight the tyranny of police murdering innocent people. (Well, unless it's fake, 2Pac did.) The amount of people preventing crime or mass shootings with guns is extremely minimal as well. Since pulling out a gun and shooting another human isn't nearly as easy under a stressful situation.

The only thoughtful argument against it is that every time we have tried to ban something it's just gone to the black market. There's no proof that this will happen with guns, since most illegal guns aren't being sneaked across boarders like people try to paint it. Illegal guns are being bought from gun shows where people from Chicago or some where that has a huge gun problem with strict gun laws are going to different states with relaxed gun laws to buy them from people that got them legally. If the gun laws became strict or if there was a straight up ban in theory it'd cut the illegal market off too. Essentially, I doubt it'd work out that way since America always finds a way to circumvent the law to get what it wants.

The Constitutionalist argument is just dumb and lazy, though. To quote Desus & Mero "The constitution shall not be tampered with! Except for the part where it says that black people are 3/5ths of a human." There's a reason they called them amendments. They knew that things change and that ideas become outdated.

I caught it on the local news the other morning that their thinking of lifting the now mandatory conceal carry class and just going to allow everyone with a registered firearm to carry. To me thats kind of crazy. I live in Youngstown, there are shootings every week on the morning news. As soon as i bought my house i bought my handgun to protect us and our house. It still has factory oil in the barrel. Has only left the case to show friends and family. I will not be partaking in the lets bring our guns everywhere ideology. It does make me leary of how many unregistered firearms i pass daily. Ill be even more leary of everyone if this all goes thru. Guns are not bad, people are bad. Theres much more to this but its the unregistered ones that worry me. Im sure there are registered gun owners that are just as messed up as those that arent. I dont know man. Sorry this is everywhere, short time window to post. Maybe a stricter registry process? Maybe more metal detectors in random locations to find more unregistered?

Psyral, to me its odd that your a Texan, with ghetto neighbors, and you dont own a gun? Thats the only reason i do own one.

Ghetto doesn't always mean it's dangerous. You really have to look at who's getting shot, too. Are they just shooting random people or are these shootings gang related?

In 2017 there was a shit ton of gang shootings going on in my town. A lot of drive bys, they shot up the bus stop that I use to go to work. Assholes. We have a lot of Nortenos and Surenos in the Salt Lake valleys because the heroin game is huge here. I personally didn't feel less safe because I'm not in a gang.

The majority of the shootings are drug related. Or are assumed to be drug related. However the dollar General 2 blocks behind us gets held up maybe twice a year. My brother in law 1 block behind us had the last thief run thru his yard. The house diagonal from us was shot at cause a wife was fooling around with another man. I feel safer if i can protect myself. Nobody knows what anyone else is going to do in a fit of rage or drug binging or for any other reason. I feel better having my handgun. I feel i can better protect my house. Dont know much about the gang affiliations where im at, id imagine their here also.

Yeah bitches, im that short gentleman mentioned in that youtube video.

And the very nice, level headed guy from that other youtube video.

Yeah, that makes a hell of a difference. We don't have too many armed robberies. I've been 'robbed' at gun point once, though. But that robbery ended with me dapping up the dude and walking away to go spend the money that he didn't get from me.

Statistically Canada has far less shootings than the US. You're essentially proving the point.

You're also quoting shootings that happened decades ago... Can't find too many recent ones? I wonder why?

I enjoy these times when you actually make sense. Decrease your pretentiousness by an eighth every year and in eight years you may be a decent duck, quacker!

On another note, this may not be a Michael Jackson question, or 2nd Amendment, or Scruffy Mafia, Juggalo Holocaust, Blahzay Rose's panty vending machine contribution annual totals, Zug Izland fan mail, or bigfoot sightings topic.... but my wife is by chance going to be visiting SLC in a couple months. Her friend will be there briefly for work training, so me wife is going to spend a few days there. Just bought her plane ticket for her birthday yesterday.

So what is there to do in SLC, homie? The wife isn't a big drinker anymore due to pancreas issues and wouldn't risk toking herb there... her friend is big on the history of different places. Like their architecture, stories, etc.... so what are the sights that you recommend? Anything nature for a day trip? You would rock if you could provide your recommendations. And yes, I understand the irony in me talking shit about Utah and now asking you for tips about it. I have always been tongue in cheek about this all anyway. I actually found the parts of Utah we drove through on the way back from Vegas to be fucking beautiful.

And I've shot guns but never owned any. I'm a country boy, too. I wont get one unless I needed one to hunt for my own game if the grocery stores suddenly become abandoned. HOWEVER, just like in upstate Ny, there are enough coyotes and mountain lions to warrant having at least a rifle. So, who knows.

You can be skilled in sharp shooting with a .22. Very small caliber but if hit in the right spots will drop a coyote, mountain lion, or the neighborhood serial killer.

My father in law bought me one in hopes of me going small game hunting with him. Ive never been small game hunting, and have thought killing was wrong but for some reason he thought it was a good idea. Ive had it for at least 5 years and have only target practiced with it. Its a decent $20 day spent with the mrs, firing off a couple rounds at cans.

Any larger bang and your only using it for scare tactics. My opinion.

I always took your shit talking Utah as playful banter, I don't know why anybody would think I'd be mad about it, I hate Utah. Living here does suck.

We do have a very beautiful Library though. It's a sight to behold. We have those two malls, one right next to the homeless shelter. I think we have a few museums. The Mormon Temple is there, as well as a few other huge churches you could visit. Just don't sit in any fancy chairs I got in trouble for that. You could do a tour of the Uinta Brewery. Exploring the shops in downtown Salt Lake is always interesting. Could always do this three hour tour.

Thanks, Lucem.

I used to laugh at people talking shit about upstate Ny and agreed with them.... until I discovered than 90% of them didnt even know what upstate NY is. They all think we are from one of the five boroughs. Now I get testy when people dont believe I'm a rural NYer. But anyways...

This article was interesting, about the recent Australia shooting. Very interesting about the other guy who shot up a place in Montreal because he hated feminists.

yeah I posted the link about that shooting in 1989 there was even a Movie about it he did not want women doing jobs he thought only men should do

and the killer in New Zealand had the name of the Quebec City Alexander Bissonette written on his gun

we even had a TV show called 19-2 first it was in French but it was so good they made it again in English and they did a 13 minute continuous shot of a school shooting

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YCyNRKp3Kso

can't find the full clip but it was pretty brutal for a TV show

I get where your coming from, but im kind of against the loud BANG and being punched in the shoulder. Never shot any rifle bigger than a 30-06. Handguns no bigger than 9mm. That's why my .45 hasnt been fired. Fear and respect! I keep telling the Mrs we need to go to a range. I wanna put some hollow points thru some fruit.
