Finally listened. From all the comments strewn on every type of forum, social media and such… I was expecting the absolute worst thing ever made by a homo sapiens.
It really isn’t anywhere near the worst. Not even in the Top 20 Worst.
Just Violent J being weird; i’m glad it had such a visceral effect on the listeners. The dude says weird shit, let him.
Do I like it? Not exactly. But I’m glad I listened to it. I was actually a bit scared to, from the internet comments hahahaha… I thought a single listen, maybe 20 seconds in, would’ve spiraled me into a lifetime of agony and spite towards the entire Insane Clown Posse legacy.
At it’s best, the song is an oddball B-Track that would’ve been funny as a secret track at the end of an EP.
At it’s worst, the song is just not super re-listenable. Nothing less, really.
I survived.

I thought it was pretty bad.
It seemed like it could have gone one of two routes – either include more humor and be more overtly funny, or, dive more into the actual topic/concept of the song in a more thoughtful way as J has done a number of times when rapping from a “character’s” point of view. He basically fell somewhere oddly in the middle with this track and it just doesn’t sound good. Part of that is the bad sing-songy verses and outright poorly performed chorus, subject matter/lyrics aside.

Hard disagree for me. I understood when it came out and there were people that didn’t like it, but I think it’s purposely funny and humorous enough to make it very clear it’s supposed to be a goofball song and the production actually sounds good.

The song is pure garbage, but the egregious part is the “fuck anybody who don’t like it. #Dumbassjuffshatin” post VJ made. Is that what being a Juggalo has come to in 2023?
2023? nah bro. its been like this for a lot longer than that. even since before the beef you had people saying if you didn’t love every single piece of shit that J dropped on a record and sent to your inbox hot steamy and fresh, you weren’t a real juggalo.
this kind of shit is exactly why I DON’T claim juggalo. and haven’t for yeeeeears, man. shit’s embarassing. eventually you wake up and realise J and Shaggy never actually cared about “juggalos” or “family”. it was all just marketing terms to get a loyal fanbase of morons who’ll buy whatever shit they’re trying to sell instead of looking at shit objectively.

ive recently been listening to my old basement tapes i made almost 2 decades ago. theres one song/freestyle that deep down i knew was wack as i was making it, so i ended the song with “fuck the haters”.. reminds me of J here, I’m not sure if it’s J’s ego or just a defense mechanism.. either way he should be beyond that by now, as it’s insulting to the fans & comes across like he’d rather have sheep than individuals..
the new song “clown blood” is a step in the right direction tho..

The production is decent don’t get me wrong. The beats don’t suck, but when it comes to quality they need to teach him. I guess maybe this is what J is going after. Seems like psy is really hurting for money bad and can’t afford an in house producer. After wicked left, they should have brought MEC back totally. They fucked up pretty bad. Shaggy the airheads production doesn’t even suck, it’s actually pretty dope. He just needs a mentor in the studio and someone to train him. I like his production for ICP alot more than wicked.
Listen to all the new tracks on youtube and load them up in your browser in an individual tab. play vocal parts on each song. you will hear a huge difference in volume. Clown blood vocals are sitting under the entire beat and hi-hats over top of everything. I bitch about mixing because I have done it as a hobby for 15 years off and on. If it was a mixtape they weren’t charging for I wouldn’t care but to call it an album when it isn’t even mixed properly sucks. A good mix makes the entire song… Seriously. Listen to a demo then listen to a mix you hear a huge difference. It sets an atmosphere for the track
