I am currently gathering up the equipment I need start up a Juggalo youtube channel. I'd like some input from you guys on what kind of content you'd like to see. I'm not trying to be a hater, I'm really not, but I've noticed that most Juggalo youtube channels are just a single shot of a guy sitting in a chair, talking about Juggalo related stuff, with maybe some sound clips thrown in (if they're doing an album review or something) but overall, its just one static shot of a person talking. So I want to try and make this have a little bit more of a cinematic feel to it, like shooting footage from different angles and things like that, just basic stuff to add some production value.
Some of the ideas for topics that I've been kicking around:
--------------------------------------------
Album/Movie Reviews
Discussing the "lore" of ICP and the Dark Carnival
Taking old ICP songs and shooting original music videos for them
Juggalo-related Conspiracy theories
Juggalo mini-documentaries (examples: why ICP likes faygo, where the word "juggalo" comes from, how Inner City Posse turned into Insane Clown Posse, the meaning of Butterfly and 17, etc)
--------------------------------------------
I was just wondering if you guys had any comments or input on this idea. What are some things that you DO and DON'T like about Juggalo youtube channels, and what would you like to see?

Do a "Critical Role" style podcast with Morton's List.
This. Please incorporate Morton's list in some way. Maybe have juggalos send in raw footage of them playing the game and just edit it down to a highlight reel segment. I think that'll bring back that old Dark Carnival Magic of the Golden era.

Rather than talking about juggalo shit. I think youre better off doing juggalo shit. If that makes sense. Like...take the kind of humor and content juggalos flock too and just produce that shit. Like purple show or road fools.

I wanna know what equipment exactly you are getting, then we can decide on content.Nothing too fancy so far. My camera is a Canon VIXIS HF R82 - Microphone is a basic Stereo Mic with windscreen - and I have a basic Windows 10 laptop with Sony Vegas for editing, but I'm going to be upgrading soon to a Desktop PC.
Whats the budget?
The budget is whatever I can afford from my paychecks every two weeks. So not too much. But I live near a film school (Full Sail) so I will probably be able to find crew members and actors for cheap/nothing, depending on the scale of the project. Are you gonna just collect the things you talked about from other sources, cuz 99% of it already exists.
No, my goal is to shoot completely original content. I went to film school myself and I hope to be able to make the stuff that I shoot look at least halfway decent. I have a decent knowledge of composition and color correcting.

To be honest with you, I've never really played any D&D or Magic-style card games, but its something that's always interested me. I'd have to look more into it and learn more before trying to do a podcast.
So I've noticed that a lot of people on here seem to be leaning towards wanting to see more longform content, podcasts and the like? I'm not sure if I'm the kind of guy who can keep people entertained for a very long time, but its definitely something I'd like to take a swing at.
I guess I'm just tired of having this Film degree and doing literally nothing with it. Kind of eats a hole in my soul, haha.

And maybe some oldskool Stern-like segments (Fat Bums Eating Candy, Coffee with Meth Heads, Crack Whore Washeteria, etc...)

On location reporting from live events, at least the Gathering, Hallowicked, Big Ballas, & Juggalo Day.
Dark Carnival Games with entertaining commentary:
Marton's List - record it like Critical Role or take the audio and animate it like HarmonQuest.
Into the Echoside
Quest for Shangri-La
Juggalos Against Sanity
Video Games
You could create JCW in Fire Pro Wrestling, some of the caw models are out there already.
Mod old ROMs to include ICP, or play the ones people already made.
or just play old games, fire up an emulator or actually hit up an arcade.
Faygo Launching tips, tricks, and home videos
have people submit Juggalo art [drawings, paintings, tattoos, ect..]

I'm a film student too, so I know how ya feel. Film just seems like something that's really, really hard to break into.
My suggestion for THAT thought, if you're not entirely sold on doing a "juggalo" youtube channel. Is find whatever aspect of film you like the most and make content that lets you experiment and show off your knowledge/talent in that.
If you like cinematography, find something that lets you do some shit with interesting lighting and camera angles and camera movement and shit.
if you like editing, maybe some short effect/editing heavy skits or short form(3-5 minute) videos.
if you like writing...try to just find some people already doing shit but that need writers and offer some treatments/script up to them.
Doing a "juggalo" youtube channel will severely limit your audience, but also it pigeon holes you into the kind of content you produce for the channel. You'll be too worried about "will juggalos like this" instead of trying to build an organic audience that likes the shit you're making.

These are all extremely good ideas, thank you for the suggestions dude.

you should try to film music videos for local rappers..
This is an idea I've been trying to get off the ground for a while. I've also thought about taking old school ICP tracks and attempting to shoot "movie-style" music videos for them. Tracks like "Piggy Pie" and "12" would be perfect for this theme, any storytelling track really. But yeah, the "shoot videos for local rappers" thing is definitely something I want to get into.

I guess what was in my mind was that this would be a good way for me to get my name/face/skills out there in the public sphere. Juggalos are already an established audience who like certain things, and I feel as though I could make content and start building an audience. But I do see what you mean, there are downsides to making a specifically Juggalo-themed YouTube channel. I guess I could always just make a YouTube channel about other topics, that just happens to include a Juggalo-related review or skit now and again, it doesn't have to be solely based around Juggalo shit.

I'd be very careful using other people's music.
Youtube has the Content ID system that sucks and flags stuff wrongly all the time.
Using someone else's tracks, especially without permission, can get your Youtube channel taken down before you realize it. 3 hits and its gone, even if they are filed in quick succession, even some are retaliatory. There may not be time to argue "Fair Use".

This is something I hadn't thought of. Guess I am still mentally living in the early 2000s when YT was a bastion of freedom and not some corporate shithole. Maybe I could just upload to BitChute instead, and use forums/social media, as well as a "Squarespace" type website, to advertise the channel guerilla-style. But not having it on YT would severely limit my exposure for sure.
My main goal of a "Juggalo" channel would be to eventually try to get Psy to notice me and start some kind of working relationship, but to be honest, I'm thinking that's probably a pipe dream of the highest caliber, haha. Ever since graduating Film school, working for Psy making dope ass horror music videos was always high up on my dream list, but its probably an unrealistic goal that has become even more unrealistic as the years have gone on.
Maybe I'm better off just shooting original short films, recording my own music (I do rap after all), and making original music videos, rather than making a channel that centers on previously copyrighted material.

YouTube now allows you to use some clips of other people's music, they just slap an advert at the beginning, or in the middle .
Honestly, there's nothing I want from a juggalo YouTube channel. The pool is already tainted.
You should just make short films etc. I would stay away from using icp song ideas but if you make a few shorts, maybe hit up jumpsteady about hosting a movie night where you show your shorts in between big money hustles and the shockumentary or what ever. Build up your name as a juggalo director.
If you make good content, people will gravitate towards you. I should know ,my YouTube gets tens of views a year lol
If you really believed that all lives matter we wouldn't need to say black lives matter
