Just curious if anyone knows why the 90's original rap trio SIMKEN HEIGHTS from Lansing Michigan was never signed onto Psychopathic Records?

Was it because SIMKEN HEIGHTS was already signed to KMC Records out of detroit?

Does anyone know if Mike E. Clark considered signing Simken Heights in the mid 90's?

Just miss'n' those Smoke Box & Religion of the Beast type of bang'n' beats along with Holy Water that was a Cap One solo that had that Simken Raw sound fa sho.

I do give props to Curt D from KGP for putting his spin on the newer Simken Heights tracks with Bedlam but me being from Lansing, I prefer the old Simken Sound. I prefer the Raw Sound of da Simken which is clearly the rappers creative voices of MASS and J Rome.  Maybe others agree to disagree and thats cool.

Curt D's take on the sound he made with Cap One for the Late 2000 SIMKEN HEIGHTS REVAMP just didn't catch me like Cap One's Holy Water solo project in the late 90's which was in my book the closing chapter to the original Simken Heights raw sound.

Mane, I grew up in Lansing so its obvious to me what the Lansing Old Heads , OG's and Midwest Simken 90's rap fans remember.

I feel we Simken fans need the story telling to come back which MASS is a master at telling through his rhymes.

I hope MASS will invent and get together a whole new rap crew that has studied the Simken Sound in general and will preserve the SIMKEN raw sound while using those Simken Raw beats.

I understand the SIMKEN stereotype is horrorcore/wicked sound but I think MASS will give us a whole new Music Creation without the horrorcore wickedness which I don't mind.

Whats most strange is no photos exist on the internet of MASS rapping on stage when SIMKEN HEIGHTS went on tour with ICP.

Its truly a pity how no one who actually saw Simken Heights in concert (((when Mass was still in the group))) would have saved the photos of Simken Heights concerts to upload to the world wide web back in the late 90's and early 2000.

I think the original 90's Simken Heights has the perfect chemistry and story for someone to make a movie about their hip hop rap beginnings in Lansing.

Just someone needs to find MASS to interview him and see if MASS will consider returning to the studio after all these years.

For archive purposes, I want to start a blog about the Simken Heights story.

Maybe one day I will have gathered enough info about the rap group to post their whole story.

For now I am hoping more Michigan rap fans will post some more stories about the original SIMKEN HEIGHTS.

If you have never heard of Simken Heights, this is one of their creative tracks from the late 90's titled Bong Thang.

Mass is a man of god now.  Horrorcore is behind him.

J Rome had a few songs, Cap One is who made that group though

Cat Burgerler, thanks for your input but from all my research. I have not found any evidence of Brian Hammock doing ministry.

Also, MASS putting horrorcore behind him, I can understand that but before he started doing Horrorcore rap, "Mass Hysteria" was making hip hop music so him retiring from making rap music in general seems to be a pity because with his unique deep voice with all ranges Brian Hammock still has a chance to make good rap music.

For example))) Jazz Hip Hop would be a great experimental project for MASS

Just curious which track titles you know of that only had J Rome doing the rap vocals.

The tracks who I assumed were with J Romes vocals are actually the rap vocals of Brian aka MASS

On the Bong Thang youtube link I attached to this beginning post, is me writing comments and questions with the MAD Rapper where he writes about Brian aka Mass Hysteria and his first hip hop/rap group "Children of a Lesser God" but still no confirmation about the MASS solo tape really existing.

If anyone knows the members of KMC Kru who started KMC Records, perhaps they can confirm if the MASS solo tape actually exists!!!

Not sure if Brian aka MASS was still under contract with KMC Records when he recorded his solo project under the rap name BrainH2O in 1997.

KMC KRU is the duo who started KMC Records who eventually signed Simken Heights in the 90's.

Cat Burgerler says "Mass is a man of god now.  Horrorcore is behind him"

My response, "Well Brian Hammock aka Mass can always make spiritual trippy rap music such as this track."

Do you know this info from the cd sleeve credits because my sources say that most of the dark crazy voices were recorded with Brian's vocals but I think only J Rome does the add lib when he screeches/screams over Brian's vocals on Slay the Hook.

Thanks for your input.

Here is a KMC KRU slow vibe'n' junt from dem Lansing Katz. Just wrote to the founder and CEO of KMC Records so I hope he will confirm if those BrainH2O and Simken Heights unreleased recordings really do exist or did exist???

Well, not sure if this will be an obstacle or perhaps a good thang because I just discovered that the founder of KMC Records also does ministry just as MASS is rumored to be doing so most likely they are in contact with each other since they both continue to live in Lansing so TO BE CONTINUED...
