Well, you saw this in “Site Promotions”, so why are you complaining?
This is the official site for my company, Horndog Studios: http://horndogs1.blogspot.com
I’ve advertised on Faygoluvers previously, but my site changed over to a new URL, so I thought I’d post this so that anyone that liked my comics can bookmark the new site.
The site has a ton of free shit, like short stories, webcomix, comedy videos and the occasional VLOG (I reviewed an ABK concert).
The free content is supported by ad revenue and comic book sales, including my own comic “Horndog”, as well as underground comics by other cool artists, like Ganjaman.
I plan on expanding the company to release music (I’ve tried to sign a couple of rappers in the past), and make films.
No requirement to buy anything, just check out the free stuff, and if you like it, subscribe to the site.

I have always wondered how small “record labels” “Sign” artists. Do you have a lawyer write out a contract and everything, or is it like asking a girl out in middle school where you circle “yes” or “no”?
“middle school” that’s still a tactic I use on bar skanks. I walk up and hand them a cocktail napkin that says “blumpkin?” Check yes or no. Try it some time whats the worst thing that could happen.

@the-warlock warlockYea i was working with some cat who wanted to open up his own record label and invest into me being his artist. This investor had a lot of capital but did not want to sign a contract on paper. Just wanted to do the whole verbal contract thing and I wasnt with that. If I am going to work with a record label there has to be a written contract or I am not fucking with it.

no, no.
the paper doesnt fuck you, you fuck yourself when you sign it. the one thing all those dumbfuck musicians stuck in bad contracts have in common is that they chose to sign a bad contract. that is their fault.
aspiring musicians: unless your dream is to someday be like the warlock [unpaid and pestering people on a single website for attention], then ignore his horrible advice, start learning a thing or two about the music business [you know, the business youre supposed to be in], and handle your paperwork. get a manager, an agent, and especially an entertainment lawyer.
if you end up in a business dispute with no written contract, your case will proceed as follows:
the court will fluff his robes and say, “who put up the money? oh, you put up the money? you win. next case.”
bang gavel.
awfully paranoid, arent you?
