Depends, because I often times like getting criticism because I’m humble enough to learn from it.

Like Lucky13 who kind of hated me a little said that I mumble my lyrics so bad that I’m harder to understand than Danny Brown. Hyperbole aside, I took it seriously and started practicing my verses and being more conscious of how my annunciation is. I like to improve.

I mean, yeah. You can learn from them, even if they cut ya fuckin’ deep. But I know from my own experience, and what everyone else I know has said. If there’s something that bothers you about something you do. Or if you’re super fucking unsure about a risk you took or something. Hearing people shit on that specific thing that you’re the most self conscience about, that you KNOW sucks and you wish you could’ve changed it but you can’t?

that shit ALWAYS stings. the difference between cocky, and humble though. is if you’re humble you accept it. You say “Yeah, I could’ve done better.” and you strive to do exactly that. Nobodies going to be perfect on their first go around. Nobody EXPECTS you to the best of the best. Nobody even excepts you to fix every single last issue with your last project; all that matters is that you’re getting better. you’re improving. you’re learning. and you’re striving to improve. that’s all anyone can reasonably ask.

is your latest project perfect? no? that’s okay. is it better than the last one? it better be. If not, work harder, if it is? fucking great, congratulations, you did your job.

But see, when you’re a cocky, arrogant little cunt. You can’t admit that. You can’t accept that you made a mistake. You’re the best, of the best. and anyone who doesn’t like your music? they’re just haters who never gave you a chance. If they don’t like your movie? fuck them they probably beat off to michael bay’s shit. If they hated your book? they probably read twilight.

Firstly, lemme say, you don’t need to be good at making music to critique it, I mean no one expected siskel and ebert to make movies, but here’s where you go wrong.

 My Lucid Dream song’s better.. 

 I dont know any other rappers with such a wide range..

The list goes on, when you brag about how good you are, and go out of your way to say about how much better you are than other rappers, whenever you diss someone all anyone hears is “I am better than them”.

To use an example from metal, (because I can’t think of a rap one) when Jared Dines talks about how good or bad a band is, nobody hears “I’m better than them” because he isn’t cocky, he makes fun of his own work, he doesn’t say shit about how much better his is than others.

If you don’t wanna start fights, be humble, that’s how it works.
