What did ya think of the album?

I was positively surprised. It was pretty good. Sucks that Murs doesn't get much love in the Juggalo world.. kind of ironic considering how down with the clown he is. His first Strange album was hit or miss with me. Some dope songs and some lame ones. Cpt California I haven't listened to because I didn't like the songs I skipped through on Youtube. And Mursday I passed on because I don't like Mayday. But this album with Seven is quite consistent. I found the beats really intriguing and Murs always has lyrics that make you actually want to pay attention to what he's saying.

I think Seven is really good at giving the artist beats that fit their vision for the album. He's really versatile. Which shows how impressively skilled a producer he really is. BUT as a fan it also makes him less interesting to me. It's like, with a producer like Stoupe from Jedi Mind Tricks, Rob The Viking or Necro I am always excited when I see that a song was produced by them. Because I like their beats and I am already thinking about how these 2 artists styles (if they work with somebody new) will merge. But with Seven it always depends on the artist. He had some great shit on Grave Plott, Prozak and Brotha Lynch albums. So when he works with artists that have a dark, heavy style, he often delivers dopeness. But when he works with Tech it's gotten gotten boring. At least lately (with Don't Nobody Want None being a recent exception).

In theory he should mesh well with Twiztid and ICP but I haven't enjoyed much of it. Hated TMML. My guess is ICP wanted more modern, poppy beats for the album, so Seven delivered that. Killjoy Club was great, though. Although they were more Three 6 style beats with an ICP twist.

BUT the beats on this Murs album are quite good. Much better than any recent Tech album. . to me anyways.

I though his first album on Strange is his best album,I think it had more diversity on it than any of his other albums but Captain California was bad it had a couple of bad beats and cringy hooks like in Ay Cramba. This album to me is a lot better than Captain California a bit worst than Murs have a nice life.

I would like a Murs album produced by Stoupe my favourite producer.

Mursday was actually great tbh...I'm not much of a Mayday fan myself but the record doesn't sound like a Mayday or a Murs record really...reminds me of a new school Beastie Boys vibe in a way and they had great chemistry...really wish they'd do another record...as for this new Murs album I'm enjoying it for the most part...John Givez should have had a verse on Midtown because while he's a terrific singer he also goes in with the raps too...look him up sometime...he used to be technically a Christian rapper but has more recently left the label he was signed with and signed a new deal and plans to do more straight up hip hop shit rather than gospel-oriented only...reminds me of a Kendrick/Andre 3000 blend...anyways I dig Murs over laidback production like this...Murs likes to experiment A LOT and try different things in music...not all of it works for me which is why I wasn't into Captain California much and only liked a few songs on his debut with Strange...Seven did his thing on production as well...was digging the majority of these beats more than a majority of what I heard on Planet really...only song I'm not really digging right now is Vows just because I think Murs can come across a little corny on some of the storytelling tracks he does like this one
