they are good but strange has a lot of great acts..Tech,Mayday and Mursday live is the shit..hands down. Prozak,Rittz,Lynch,Kali,Wrek all put on great shows. How did Tech “sell out” exactly?? lol.. Just because hes not making the music you want him to make( same with ICP) is not “selling out” they do what the fuck they want under their terms…If you see Tech and ICP music in the next Dodge commercial then you can call them out for it..

@novo record sales and money made means little nowadays in the music industry. Snowgoons & Onyx Wakedafucup is better than Tech’s whole back catalogue. But you don’t understand that. You never will. You insist on record sales and popularity. It’s quality not quanity.

One cd from 99-2000. It is not getting put up on here. The group was promising pressed up 1000 records sold most. But it’s members on the other hand… me and one other person didn’t get involved in a bullshit deal with a dead label and well i’ll end it at that.

Fuck, the “tech sold out” thing is still a discussion? I suppose I’ll jump in too. “Sold out” is kind of a dead phrase at this point. There was definitely a time when the gap between massive record label puppets and independent artists was huge and thus the two sides were worlds apart. That’s not really the case anymore though. ICP can do interviews on the most popular media location (youtube) and still remain true to who they are (what I consider to be the deciding factor in someone selling out). The reality of it is Tech N9ne has always had the music most people on here, I’m assuming, really enjoy. K.O.D., Higher Power, Blacken the Sun, T9X, etc… and then on the same albums (looking at you Everready) he had the “please like me, radio fans” club, cliché rap. From day one he’s done both and now that he’s doing tracks with Lil Wayne and T. Pain he’s STILL doing both so I don’t see what’s changed except everyones ability to access his music as opposed to just a few.

@CellE2057 Hey Tech Sold Out in the worst way possible. It has little to do with wanting more money. It’s more so his quality dropped off with constant back-to-back releases. “But he works hard and makes good music.” Not really. To say Tech is a sell out is from hearing and seeing a drop in quality and a increase in quantity. Flooding the market with your product it’s easy to say he’s putting in hardwork by releasing new shit constantly. That’s bad business in a short time. 4 eps and 3 lps in three and a half years kills sales and leaves a bad taste in peoples mouths. He flooded the market and his last lp seen weak sales. They see the new thing and go no i’ll pass i’m still using last months.

OK, but if you compare the shit that’s on an album like Angellic to shit like “Dwamn” and “Fragile” for instance, it’s clear that Tech is trying to appeal to a very difference audience now than he used to be.  And specifically it’s a much bigger audience that will buy a lot more records.  I don’t think Tech himself would dispute that, and it’s not unfair to call that “selling out.”  Personally, I don’t give a shit- I like a lot of his newer stuff and I don’t think he’s “sold out” in the sense of not being true to the people who got him where he was (as he shows every year at the Gathering), which is the important thing.  But his sound has definitely moved in a more mainstream direction, no matter how much anyone likes and respects him there’s no denying that.

personally i thought strangeulation had like 4 good tracks and teh rest were kinda eh. 

everyone has a shit run though. doesnt mean they sell out. they either come out of it, died away or sign a deal with weezy. ill just likes to hear himself talk. whether he is 14 34 or a 58 y/o trying to act 14(i personally think its this one). im like 90% sure ill gets up in the morning tlaks to himelf in the mirror for a few hours and then goes plays building blocks at the architect fir… er i mean kiddy day care he goes to every day.

lets face it ill, your more likely a creepy weirdo who hangs out daycare then an accomplished anything. or even an unaccomplished anything.

and for the record i actually liked most of something else. not because everything tech does is gold (far far from it) its just something else. but hey, haters gon hate.
