According to that definition of a sell out, everybody and every artist is a sell out. We all change our morals at one point in life, or even abandon some morals to obtain something we want. So I conclude that this argument is completely stupid. Does anybody know where I can download some Benjamin Britten?

Selling out for dumbed down lyrics and bullshit guest features. Yea go listen to more of the fraudulent rhymes. I'll stay with the cats who have ambitions of bringing back real skill. Tech sold out for bullshit play on corporate media and faggot fans.
I really don't see how he's dumbed down his lyrics. Yeah, maybe I don't like some of the guests, but that's my opinion and not everybody's opinion.
I know some people who say “I lost respect for Tech for doing a song with some faggalo artists like ICP or Twiztid.” Hmm, so I guess Tech's music sucks now because that one person doesn't like how Tech N9ne does songs with ICP. You're just preaching that your opinion is greater than anybody else's with out ever thinking about other point of views.
I really just think people are getting mad that Tech N9ne is blowing up because he's less exclusive and knowing something exclusive or belonging to something a bit more esoteric makes people feel superior in a way.
I read something today that perfectly applies to a lot of the people on this forum.
Value Judgements tend to freeze people into the status quo and make them commit themselves to a stand, and almost inevitably once a person takes a position on an issue, even one as trivial as the merits of a movie or of daylight-saving time, the possibility of his listening to a dissenting point of view with an open mind diminishes. Instead of wanting to hear both sides, he goes on the defensive and becomes more concerned about justifying his own opinion than understanding someone else's point of view.

You post something about open mindedness and your in a conversation of sorts with what is generally my opinion on him selling out.
You obviously started this forum to state your opinion as well as to hear other opinions. You go on to debate against the opposing opinions, yet you refuse to acknowledge any of the points that seem to accurately refute your points. You put the definition up of the word sell out and saying that, “He doesn't have the integrity, morals or principals that he once had” in attempt to ultimately win the argument, but I'm pretty sure that everybody's integrity, morals and principals that they once had has been changed or abandoned by everybody at one point in their life. So every rapper you like is also a sell out, making it hypocrisy to condemn Tech N9ne for selling out, which you obviously do. On the other hand, it's debatable on whether he really has lost his integrity, morals or principals because everybody has their own perception of what his integrity, morals or principals are because they have their own perception on what they should be. So maybe he has never betrayed his own integrity, morals or principals, but he has betrayed your perception on what his integrity, morals, or principals should be.
1)So on one hand you're right, but you are also a hypocrite for condemning him for selling out while ignoring the fact that many of your other favorite artists are sell outs.
2)On the other hand you are wrong, and he only sold out in your eyes because of your perception on what his integrity, morals, or principals should be.
You decide which statement is true.

I am right but most if not all of my favorite artists styles haven't changed. For example The Gza still spits the same shit, hasn't changed his style up and but hasn't received the same success as some of his Wu-Tang brothers like Method Man, but he is considered one of the greatest ever. Tech changed for the worse.

I don't think what style you rap with dictates your integrity, morals or principals. In fact, I believe that his integrity, morals, and principals, when it comes to his music, is to try to switch up his style to prevent himself from doing the same thing over and over again and to rap about what he's going through. That statement contradicts, I can't remember who said it but, the statement that he raps about the same thing over and over again.

Your style can be strictly intelligent or fast or pertain to only vivid stories. You can sell your style out to follow what is currently popular. Rapping about stopping violence and bettering yourself to oh another party track? wtf another song about a bullshit drink. Uhh where's the meanings at?

I'll quote somebody from another thread.
Now thats just the business end of it, if you want to get into music its even more cut and dry. As much as i like alot of techs work, post everready he has 4 song topics, 1.I'm so much more different then everyone else,2.I'm so much cooler then everyone else,3.I Fuck Bitches,4.I Party. Occasionally he will do something like “the noose” but even then he cant resist the urge to throw in some line about his sexual prowess. Then he claims people who dont like sex songs dont get laid. Not really dude, i am a grown ass heterosexual man,i dont want to hear another grown ass man tell me how good he is at fucking, the only people that should be into sex songs are fucking women who get wet at the thought of having the artist do that to them. A Occasional sex song is cool, but come on, out of every 10 songs tech makes, 5 are sex songs. ICP on the other hand, take a look at mighty death pop, every song on all four discs is a different topic, thats true creativity right there.

Kusterfuk Ep
1 Kusterfuk-a song basically about his religious upbringing, the struggles it caused and a bit of ego.
2 Blur-I Party
3 Can't Stand Me-First verse is about how his music/appearance kind of rattles parents and the second verse is about the parents of white girls not liking him because he's black
4 Ugly Duckling-I'm so different
5 Awkward-A bunch of stories about awkward moments.
6 D.K.N.Y.- I guess it's supposed to be about him not being just a stereotypical black man which could go under I'm so different.
Now, you could put ICP's music under four categories too. 1 I'm the under dog/I'm so underground 2 juggalo pride 3 let's kill the racists/rapists/pedophiles/immoral people 4 miracles type shit.
Everything sounds the same if you don't like the genre/artist.

So practically three songs that are either party, i'm different, i'm cooler or i fuck bitches. Track 2 is party. Track 3 could that be seen as i'm different or I fuck bitches? Track 4 i'm different. Track 6 i'm different. 4 out of 6 songs that have an overly repeated concept.
That's Icp you want to talk about them go make a thread like this about them.
