Personally since they've signed with Strange I've actually liked what they have brought to the table…they sound good with Tech and Krizz both when they collaborate and make good music on their own as well…I actually liked Take Me To Your Leader…I just hear a lot of negative things about them whenever mentioned so thought I'd ask and get some other viewpoints

Take Me to Your Leader is easily one of the best albums released this year. Hip Hop with a live band is always better in my opinion … Unless DMC returns from the dead. I didn’t realize they had haters … Them and Ces Cru … Godemis specifically are my current favorite rappers. Every track on take me to your leader is dope .. I let it play in my piercing room while I’m working.
REM
Hardcore Bitches with Murs
Fucking Dead Prez albums fire.
Hope they play the Gathering and get mad love.

What is that type of music? Hip hop with a live band?? Who else does that .. That isn’t currently working for Jimmy Fallon? They spit good stuff .. Death March a dope song.
Even more funny to see someone who must be at leat a little bit of a fan of wicked/acid/horrorcore say Mayday sounds the same as someone else?

Let's see rap with a live band. Limp Bizkit, Kid Rock, Rage Against The Machine De La Rocha (lead vocals) spits rap in some songs, Everlast has had a live band, Rza has used a live band actually orchestra for the song Chamber of Fear, Public Enemy has had a live band with them before, Cypress Hill has also used a live band and KRS-ONE used a live band on his song Just To Prove A Point. The point you make seems pretty irrelevant due to the fact that Mayday isn't the only group to do the Hip Hop with a live band before. The style they do is essentially out of popularity due to the fact people generally grew tired of it. Also The Judgement Night Soundtrack is Rap, Rock and Metal bands on the same track. Boo Yaa Tribe Another Body Murdered perfect example. Your not listening to anything new. Achozen look them up.

All the shit you listed was from the 90s … You think different generations can’t bring styles of music up to date and still be good?
Atmosphere actually sounds dope with the live band too. Mayday also does .. I’ve actually seen them with Tech at least three times .. It’s a good show. You might like it if you listened. You like to argue a lot iLL .. Ok.

“Hip hop with a live band?? Who else does that” It's been done before Critical Bill does it now. Limp Bizkit has popped back up. Everlast still does it. Cypress Hill, Rza, Kid Rock (suprisingly), Ice Cube has done it before, Public Enemy and Anthrax have teamed up in the past decade, Korn and Ice Cube, Hed P.E., Common, Talib Kweli, Onyx has used a live band to record and perform with and many others. It's never necessarily went away but it's still around. Also it's usually similar rhymes to a different beat. Don't reply back by telling me to fuck off or repeating “All the shit you listed was from the 90s Blah blah blah”.

Everlast doesn’t tour anymore. His kid is sick and has been. The last time he did tour it was with coka Nostra .. No live band.
Kid rock tours with a live band because he’s a country singer now .. When the the last time he rapped a verse for anything? 90’s?
Cypress hill just put out a dubstep album and are touring with that dude. They did that one rock album though .. In the 90’s
Ice cube did it before .. When he used to kick it with Korn .. Oh wait right .. In the 90’s
Onyx toured with biohazard .. In the 90’s .. I remember because icp was on the tour.
Common toured with the Roots pretty sure .. Which would be the band I first mentioned now working for jimmy Fallon.
Talib KWeli I don’t listen to so I won’t comment.
So fuck off .. All the shit you mentioned was from the 90’s kid.
Original point being this … Mayday is a phresh band, they put on a good show. Anyone not trying to argue about dumb shit that doesn’t matter, who may not have heard them might give it a listen, it’s actually really fucking pretty phresh. That’s why tech signed them.

the thing you over looked tho is The Roots. you said the band name yourself. guess what? not just from the 90's they are still active artists today. also WOLFPAK, Hed P.E., and Kottonmouth Kings (specifically the drums played by Lou Dog) are all active in 2012 and play actuall instruments. best thing is that they don't use that autotune bullshit like MayDay does. thats what I believe people are talking about when they say “it's been done before”. they use the same ideas and autotune that so many artists before them have. i personally think that MayDay is a shit band and I've tried listening to many of their songs but it doesn't work for me. also people probably think they're dope cuz they're on Strange Music

Was suppose to be on their Black Rock record. Cypress Hill released Skull Bones in 2000 Rap Metal. Common has used different live bands so has Talib Kweli. Kid Rock still on occasion performs his rap rock from his early career. M.O.P. has a rap rock album called Mash Out Posse a collabo with heavy metal group Shiner Massive. Snoop Dogg has recorded with the Gorillaz and performed with a live band on occasion. The specifications of a live band has never been mentioned. Everlast has brought a band along with him on his last tour LCN wasn't involved with the tour. Cypress Hill on occasion has used a live band in the past decade. Public Enemy more notably Chuck D has a raprock group called Confrontation Camp. Mayday is rehashed rereleased garbage. The era doesn't matter if the songs aren't nothing new. Necro has recorded with live instruments Pre-fix For Death, Insaneology, Empowered, Suffocated To Death By God's Shadow, Ultimate Revenge, Necrotura.
