Prevail of the legendary hip hop group Swollen Members formed a new group with his real life nephew about a year ago, they are called ALPHA OMEGA.

ALPHA OMEGA has been co-headlining a tour across Canada this past month with Bax War fam ADLIB.

They made it to Toronto last Thursday night for a show at the Rockpile. I arrived at the club at 11pm, knowing the show would start late.

When I entered the Rockpile I noticed right away the place was virtually empty. My ticket was on will call, and after the doorman stamped my hand he told me I was the only one on will call for the show!! Tickets had been available online through Ticketmaster for months, it's shocking to me that not one other person bought a ticket online but me!

Tix were only 15 dollars.

Next thing you know Brothers Grim, the official tour opener took the stage. I've seen them open for Madchild before. They put in a real lively set, definitely have a lot of potential if they continue to hone their craft. I snapped a few photos of them on stage, plus the merch area-

Next up was high ranking Battle Axe warrior ADLIB, who hails from Philadelphia.

He quickly lamented the low turnout, and then busted into a very entertaining set.

I haven't checked much of the dude's music prior to this show, he put out a cool vibe and had the crowd getting live throughout his 40 minute set. Drinking/Getting drunk seemed to be a major theme in his tunes.

According to the promoter, ADLIB has been headlining many of the nights on the tour, alternating with Alpha Omega on certain dates.

After purchasing both of Alpha Omega's EP's from the merch booth, I bought a second 10 dollar tall can from the lonely lady at the bar, and then got psyched to check out Prevail's and Neph's new group Alpha Omega, who had just taken the stage.

I figured we would hear all the songs off both Alpha Omega EP's, and I was right.

One thing I also expected was Prevail to perform some of his Swollen Member's verses- that did not happen.

Prevail flipped out at some of the crowd for not getting live enough in the middle of their set, that was worth the price of admission alone.

He chewed out a dude in the back who was just staring down at his phone the whole night. lol

It's a shame no one came out to show support- I really dig Alpha Omega's music, and hope they continue to put shit out. They were tight on stage, Neph seemed a little shy and didn't talk too much to the crowd.

yup, plenty of room to bust a move, which I did.

Prevail even moshed with us for a song.

Tom V from Reel Wolf was getting live in the crowd too!

Is this common place in Canada unless it is a huge house name headliner? Or was this an odd situation where the turnout just wasn't what they expected?

I know that group Hollywood undead claimed to have only like 15 people show up on one of their Euro stops. Which is crazy.

Nah you could tell Prevail was pissed that nobody showed.

Only other time I saw The Rockpile club that empty was when Slaine headlined there last year. Only 50 people showed up that night.

Snak the Ripper played the same club last weekend and brought in 150 people, so safe to say Adlib and Prevail may want to step up their promotional game.

The turnout may have indicative of the fact the Battle Axe Warrior movement is pretty much dead, except for maybe on the west coast of Canada.

I only saw one "Warrior" with his official vest and patch on at the show.

I guess they are trying to evolve and get away from that. Sometimes artists have to evolve a little and get away from what doesn't work anymore. At least you had fun though. Also it is nice to go to a merch booth and not be worrying about not getting what you want lol.
