And we had the Thornville Sheriff Department patrolling inside the last several Gatherings. They didn’t mess with people smoking unless they did something stupid like steal or vandalize. I liked having the police there. Kept things like the “Drug Bridge” from forming.
I am not worried about this location at all.

Different laws on pot though. In Ohio it’s just a minor misdemeanor. They even said in an article after the 2014 gathering they weren’t concerned with people smoking pot. This new venue does look amazing as fuck but I do wonder what their security is like. I was fine with Ohio county cops and LV staff but just gonna have to play it safe at a new venue

And passing a joint around can be seen as distributing or dispensing.
There were definitely kids at the last two gatherings. I saw everything including infants breast feeding, upper elementary age kids, tweens, and teens.

see, to me, the thing that psy missed when choosin to bounce outta legend valley, is that cops who are that cool with us are a definite fuckin rarity. that boon shouldnt be ignored, given the cop trouble gatherings have had before.
trading that for an unknown makes me wonder if maybe they arent too particularly concerned with how many juggalos get picked off. most would likely get nailed on the way out, anyway [a la that first year at hog rock], and even if not, the vast majority will have already paid.
that said… for real, yall think nobody smokes, or sumn?

The officers at Legend Valley were some of the nicest most respectful I’ve ever met.
I really do hope GOTJ makes it back there some day. Far as I’m concerned PSY could’ve booked that place at any time year round essentially for “trial” gatherings in different seasons. Why won’t they ever do that shit in the Spring or Fall?

That would be a total bone if this venue was scoping out and harassing people smoking weed. Regardless if it IS a dope spot it wouldn’t be cool to have a juggalo gathering there. I don’t need a waterslide or island bar. Just a place to blaze and gather. Then again pretty much everyone is smoking so the ratio of juggalos to heavies would be like 200:1. First year at LV no one knew what that would look like so ya just gotta scope it out. I been to plenty of small venue shows where I was able to sneak a toke if need be.

Yeah it cracks me up when I hear Jump say he wants to go to different places so we can see new areas and what not. Yah thats cool and all but where is the gathering this year? when it is? what is todays date? I mean they said last week that it was so close to finalizing shit. Steve from LV said he “WISHED ” they were hosting again. I mean if it was at LV again we could already be having ideas for the village all that other fun stuff during gathering season. Wasn’t the fanciest place, but it was a nice home for 3 years.

Why the sobriety this time around? If I went this year I would try to have at least one soberish night, since I’m Old and Dangerous… hangovers are worse than ever nowadays.
I spent 2001 GOTJ completely sober, so I guess it’s still possible.

I wasn’t implying they would. What I meant was that it was a new place for us in 2014. There was just general concerns with cops on the grounds there and what the general attitude was. But I hear you when you say lv was an established place…but it was an unknown place to the juggalos in early 2014 when it was announced. I am a little concerned with lost lakes being a brand new venue in general and how stiff things could be. Only way to know is to go I guess…if they ever announce it.

OMD, the plan is to take my kid so I want to have my wits about me plus don’t want to chance any imperial entanglements. I party pretty hard year round, good time to break for a few days. Being on the road with green licence plates in surrounding states can be pretty nerve wracking when you’re holding. I just wanna chill and relax, spend some time with the fam.
Weedo, the only way to find great new spots is to scout them out and take chances on them. When they started at Hogrock, it was only known for a biker festival. Similarly, this venue is only known for a burgeoning EDM festival. Somebody gotta pop that cherry properly. Why not GOTJ?
Edit: At least two different EDM festivals. They have had more different festivals at the venue in question than Hogrock had in 2007. Fact. I’m curious how many festivals they had at the ’06 spot? That place was a dump, right? Anyways…

jus a thought… almost certainly gonna be another flh village there [attempted, at least], and while the party can get pretty hard, it generally stays sober-friendly. based on experience.
plus, im guessin there would be multiple volunteers to watch over cubs, if watchin over cubs were to become a concern.
what im gettin at is, you wouldnt necessarily have to play it super-tight. just tight enough.
