This might sound a bit naive of me, but I don’t travel often outside of Canada, so I thought I’d ask here…

Just wanted to know with all the gang label nonsense going on… am I at risk for being put on a gang list just for going to The Gathering?

I live in Toronto. Over the past decade I have crossed the border to attend the Gathering at Cave-in-Rock, as well as going to Buffalo for ICP shows, Detroit for the Rustlas premiere, Rochester for Lotus, etc.

First rule : be honest. I was arrested but not convicted about 13 years ago, I get asked about all the details of that event about 60% of the time I cross the border. 

They will ask you where you are going. When I went to the Gathering I told them I was going to a music festival in Illinois. No need to mention ICP if it isn’t needed.

They may ask to see your festival ticket(I bought mine at the gate the year I went, Gathering never sells out).

They will ask if you have any tattoos if they know you’re a Juggalo, happened to me. They also asked me if I had any Juggalo nicknames/aliases.

Stay relaxed, don’t flip out at any weird questions and you should be good. I’ve never been denied entry.

Thanks man. This helps a lot. I’m flying out of Toronto as well… I just hope this “enhanced security” process doesn’t screw me over. This is my first Gathering so I pre-ordered my ticket, so I’ll have that on me if they ask to check. I’m just worried “A music festival in Oklahoma City… with Vanilla Ice and POD” sounds so over the top they’ll do some digging. I have no criminal record so hopefully I won’t get grilled as hard as you’ve seemed to.
