It translates best to “the horror film” in Arabic. For sentences, you can't use an internet translator very well, but single words give multiple great options for people to work with.
actually, i meant, figure it out phoenetically, pronunciation. i rarely use internet resources for translation, machines dont understand phraseology, so, they tend to lead to errors. copy/paste isnt very conducive to learning, in my opinion.
buried somewhere within all my junk is a couple phrasebooks for arabic, farsi/dari, and pashtu. thank you, us army.
tcm, i only give it up to the first one, and that, only because it freaked me out when i first saw it, at age eight or so. today? eh.
these days, the vast majority of horror movies, classic or not, mostly bore the shit out of me. i guess the genre as a whole just isnt as effective anymore, you know?
awfully paranoid, arent you?

Hey scruffy…have you ever seen Martyrs or A serbian Film? Both good get under your skin movies.Foreign though.
thats kinda my point. i dont enjoy things that get under my skin. the horror trend these days is either, movie sucks on all levels, or disturbing and shocky, and nothing id actually want to see to begin with.
i am interested in evil dead. the first ones, especially evil dead 2, are still entertaining.

im not optimistic, as pretty much every remake is inferior to the original. and lets remember, evil dead has already been remade once, and that one was better, so, theres already a precedent to live up to, beyond the original film.
im sure ill see it eventually. not in the theater, though, fuck the theater.

Bruce cambell and sam raimi are producing the film.Theres a good article on bloody disgusting that talks about the evil dead remake and it sounds very promising. The people involved are very passionate about the film and are making it with up upmost integrity,so its not just a studio cashing in on it.Im very optimistic about it but we will wait and see.I'll be there opening day for sure.

i probably would have, but i cant stand the theater experience these days. waste of money.
mostly, thats because of the weaknesses of the theaters around me. theres always at least one factor fucking everything up, often more than one. bad sound, bad projection, bad seating conditions, bad concessions, bad moviegoers.
and from the owners on down, nobody who works in them gives even the slightest fuck. unless youve been in the lobby for more than ten minutes without spending money. then they give a fuck, because youre loitering, and they throw you out.
i think the last time i went to the [local] theater was for a midnight showing of episode iii. i showed up at around eleven oclock, nobody there but a cop. the cop says, come back at 11:15, or im tresspassing. for real. as if he works for the theater, the cop [who i already knew] tells us, 'read the back of the ticket.'
the back of the ticket says, 'doors will open at 11:15 pm'. they shouldve put a note under that about how being there early means you are subject to arrest.
i mean, fuck, the patrons from the evening shows had basicly just left, the place was only closed for about a half hour…

No way in hell that texas 2 is the best chainsaw movie…the og is way better imo..
They're both horror classics but they're completely different movies. Both were made by Hooper with the same story and characters, but not even similar in style. I like the sequel slightly more because it's completely batshit crazy compared to the original, and allows me more enjoyable repeated viewings. It's still close.
