First Look: Wanna See Ol’ Chuckster In ‘Curse of Chucky’?!

Thanks to some Child’s Play super fans, we may have our first ever look at Chucky from the Don Mancini-directed Curse of Chucky!

The below image was discovered on Fiona Dourif’s Instagram with the caption “It’s my head on a soundtrack!” The pic is of a CD, allegedly the film’s soundtrack, with a cover displaying the title card, Fiona tied to a chair, and our favorite killer trapped in a Good Guy Doll!

Fiona is the daughter of Brad Dourif, best known as the voice of Charles Lee Ray, aka Chucky. Now in post production for a rumored October release, the film also stars A Martinez, Danielle Bisutti and Brennan Elliott.

“Nica (Fiona Dourif) is grieving over the gruesome suicide of her mother when her domineering older sister Barb (Danielle Bisutti) arrives with her young family in tow to help settle their mother’s affairs. As the sisters butt heads over Nica’s plans for the future, Barb’s young daughter comforts herself with a grinning, red-haired talking doll named Chucky (voiced again by Brad Dourif) that recently arrived mysteriously in the mail. But as a string of brutal murders begins to terrorize the household, Nica suspects the doll may hold the key to the bloodshed. What she doesn’t know is that Chucky has a personal score to settle. He’s determined to finish a job he started more than 20 years earlier, and this time he’s going to see it through to the bloody and shocking end.“

I really hope they go back to the straight horror roots in this one. Seed of chucky was a fucking joke. Chucky always had the best one liners but they turned the series into a farce. Heres to hoping

totally agree, but at the same time you cannot make horror movies to scare people anymore, because its all been done and its just cliche now.

most horror movies are bad comedies nowadays. sucks, my fav movie is still the blob hahah

horror passed away and now its all about gore films (which are terribly boring).

They are cliche for a reason mayne. Speaking only for myself here, I loved the remakes of Friday the 13th, Texas Chainsaw, and Halloween because they are all business. Horror movies were never really scary to me. That was never really the point.

I just love rooting for the bad guy, and to see obnoxious promiscuous teens get chopped into pieces(in movies).

We really don’t need another Chucky movie, in my opinion. I loved the first 2 growing up but the 3rd one lacked violence and gore, the good shit. I liked the other 2, but they’re more comedy than anything. I love the remakes mentioned above, they were all bad ass. Chucky won’t be anywhere near as ruthless as what comes out nowadays, little that it is. It seems another example to me as to how Hollywood and the movie industry in general can’t/won’t come up with anything new. Stop remaking shit and just let Rob Zombie direct everything.

I like remakes that put their own dope twist on the movie.

Rob Zombies Halloweens should not be compared to the originals because it’s almost a whole new story.

I hope it doesn’t get as bad as the Seed of Chucky.

Nothing was as bad as Freddy’s Dead The Final Nightmare. Fitting title, drove the series into the ground.

I find myself cheering the bad guy on aswell, but i dunno. i think the asians are the only one who are still making good traditional horror films.

You can still freak people out, and it doesnt have to be with a gore infested bloodfest.

i dont mind some remakes, i loved the new texas chainsaw too. i think i saw all the freddy movies to late in my life as i always thought they were super cheesey.

I was always more of a hitchcock kid, i still hunker down and watch every hitchcock movie i own from time to time when i have a few days off work.

I was talking about the remakes not the new sequel to the original. I do agree that was garbage. Only part of the movie I liked was him sewing that mask to his face through his lips

Bloody Disgusting reader ‘Kurewka’ just sent us the first ever look at Don Mancini’s Curse of Chucky, which was rumored for release on September 24, 2013 from Universal. A second update has come in Friday night as we’re told by inside sources the date may/should be changing. Hold for official news coming soon.

The still displays leading lady, Fiona Dourif, talking to a Good Guys doll. Fiona is daughter to Brad Dourif, who has voiced Chucky in all six Child’s Play films. The photo cracks me up as “Chucky” has his own chair (even though the names are typically on the back).

Don Mancini is the creator of the Child’s Play franchise and has written/or directed all of the sequels.

With no release date announced yet, Universal Home Entertainment has unpacked the first two official stills for Curse of Chucky, the sixth Child’s Play film following the 2004 Seed of Chucky.

The first stills display the new Chucky doll, which is possessed by serial killer Charles Lee Ray (played and voiced by Brad Dourif).

In the sequel directed by creator Don Mancini, “Nica (Fiona Dourif) is grieving over the gruesome suicide of her mother when her domineering older sister Barb (Danielle Bisutti) arrives with her young family in tow to help settle their mother’s affairs. Universal Home Entertainment literally just announced that Don Mancini’s Curse of Chucky, the sixth Child’s Play film following the 2004 Seed of Chucky, will be arriving on various VOD platforms September 24 with a Blu-ray/DVD date slated for October 8 (there will also be a Blu-ray box set called “Chucky: The Complete Collection”).

Now, you can now watch the first official trailer that gives us a solid look at the brand new Good Guys doll, which is possessed by serial killer Charles Lee Ray (played and voiced by Brad Dourif). Thanks to Bloody reader ‘Fabien M.’ for tipping us to Mashable.

Also, I guess the box art let the cat out of the bag – I’ve seen the movie. While my review is forthcoming, I am allowed to reveal that I quite adored it. I promise that hardcore Child’s Play fans will gush over Curse of Chucky, and it’s also a great introduction to the character for younger audience. I seriously can’t wait to get my hands on the Blu-ray box set – I may explode before October comes.
