Ol Steve always replies “Pet Sematary” whenever a fan asks him what he thinks his scariest story ever is. Mostly because it has to do with your kid dying, then having to kill the sonofabitch again lol. I could feel that. Plus in ways, I dunno maybe it’s just me, but Pet Sematary seems a lot more plausible than other stories. Don’t ask me why, it just always has.
And yes, “It” is so damn good, truly frightening in parts. “Dark Tower” goes without saying lol… “The Stand”, “The Shining”, all the classics etc etc fuckin etc… I always thought “The Library Policeman” was an underrappreciated novella. Shit is fucked up thematically and also there’s some scary descriptions.

The library Policeman is great, no one ever really brings that one up. The Sun Dog, the story right after that, is my favorite king novella ever. All of Four Past Midnight is classic King.
There were rumors of The Sun Dog as a film too. Weird ass story, like a Goosebumps book on bath salts.
Speaking of Goodsebumps, ever read R.L. Stein’s “adult” book, “Superstitious”? It sucks but has it’s moments.

Goosebumps were the shit too. Thats what sparked my interest in reading in the first place. As far as kings works, besides the obvious, id really have to go for just after sunset as my favorite novellas. They are dark and hopeless all the way through and no happy endings like most of his work.
Now that im thinking about the sun dog it reminds me of another story from everythings eventual. I cant think of the name but ita about a guy that buys a creepy painting of a dude in a classic car at a yard sale. The artist had killed himself. Anyways he notices slowly that the painting is moving. Very similar to the sun dog. I could talk about this shit all day

I bought Just After Sunset last month, haven’t gotten around to it yet but what you said makes me want to read it after this one is done. Have about 130 pages left to Doctor Sleep and it is AWESOME. Definitely not a letdown.
I never read goosebumps that was a little after my young adult phase but before that he wrote a Fear Street series that I liked a lot. Him and Christopher Pike were all I read back in the day. Never read his book for adults, I always figured it would suck. Kind of like a stick to what you know kinda thing.

Thank you dudes, night was amazing. Now hopefully we take it all!!!!!
Anyways, finished Doctor Sleep, I know you guys will enjoy it as much as I did, definitely not a disappointment. Want to talk about it but will probably give away some shit. So I’ll just keep my mouth shut homies. Grab this book when you can, totally worth it. We don’t have bookstores up here really, they all went under pretty much. Bought the book at Target for 30% off, brought it down to $21.00. Don’t know if that helps, just want you mo’fos to read that shit.
Gonna start Just After Sunset today

Dang ant atlked about Mr. King ina minute. Man i really want to read Joyland cuz the whole Carnival setting and i amsuper hype about all the other adaptations in the works but i heard the director of IT was going to try to modernize it and bring it to the 2000’s some how but i dont know for sure. The breathing Method is a wild story but i dont see it being a feature film with a and hour and a half to 2 hrour length. The Long Walk would be fresh to see cme to life.
Been wanting to read Dr. Sleep but no cheddar for it. I read the 1st chapter in a magazine and it was good. Im real behind though I still havent read Under The Dome or Full Black No Stars or the New Dark Tower. Im going to start From a Buick 8 in a while though. Just recently moved so a lot of my junk is in storage.
Thank You Slum for remembering that i am literate and enjoy the ancient past time of Reading. Im currently reading American Psycho its a task to get through cuz the way P. Bateman speaks its so long and drawn out but its intersting for sure. If they made the movie after the booked it would be beyond X Rated it would be like Z rated or something. Yet it would be incredibley dull at times too.
Id love to see Cell made into a movie but not in this time in entertainment cuz we have enough Zombie shows and movies they need to wait like 10 years when everyones on some space alien junk then the Zombie movie will stick out more and be a hit. The zombie is too popular in my opinion it would just be another film in the fad right now.
I really like the Richard Bachman books though. Id like to see Blaze as a movie and indy movie with some grea no name actors.
Has anyone read Lisey’s Story i have read reviews but im mixed about getting it i need real feedback. I think Life Time should pick up Rose Madder wht yall think?

Lisey’s Story is the only King book I don’t like. Believe me, I tried. I never thought Stephen King would write a book that I absolutely hated but Lisey’s Story sucks a ton of ass, big disappointment. Rose Madder was a great book, wouldn’t want to see an adaption though Mr. Preachy. It’s just better off left alone. Norman from that book, all time evil character. Put to screen I don’t see it being half as horrifying as our minds can make it out to be. Bloody pigs mask, minotaur in the labyrinth, some things are just better left alone man.
I wish I could send some of ya’ll Doctor Sleep. It was a great book, I know that all of you would enjoy it. Shit, I would send it out if I could. Think if I labeled some boxes Preachy The Clown, Slumerican 502 and ViolentDope they would find their way home to you guys?

I fucked up! When i was talking about my favorite novellas i was thinking of full dark no stars not just after sunset. Sunset are short stories. I appreciate the thought pat but im gonna break down and get it this weekend. Bout to get up off my ass and start work at a best buy warehouse here soon. @ preachy its good to hear from ya man. As far as blaze goes do they remind anyone else of george and lennie from mice and men? Blaze was a sad book in a way. Poor guy never had a chance.i also dont think madder would work as well in a movie. Maybe as a women empowerment lifetime movie lol

Man im telling you LifeTime should pick up Rose Madder It could be their Haloween Premiere or something. I read Lisey’s Story was similar to Rose Madder in that they go to a dream world with mythical creatures.
If you want to send me a book i can hook you up with my address haha just let me know.
Yea Brett Easton Ellis is real good. Bateman is such a freakin Dork that just wants to fit in and be unnoticed yet noticed all at once very complex yet dull yet Psychotic and dumb. I really want to Read Less Than Zero and supposedly Batemans little brother is in that other book Rules of Attraction.
Ive never Read the Silent Library story its that pretty rowdy or what?
I still want t see Gerald’s Game as a full length movie but an unrated format. The Ghost Cowboy or whatevr it was called, would be sick to see with his bulbous head and livery lips. I gave this book to my mothr in law to read and she couldnt get through it. She asked Why did i give her a book about child molestation instead of reading all the way through and seeing the will of human capabilities when in desperate situations and the power to overcome. oh well.
Has anyone read From a Buick 8?

American psycho was a tough movie to try to interpret as far as what he is hallucinating and what is real. I think the movie was supposed to be a commentary on the upper echelon of society during the eighties. they were superficial and materialistic as well as self serving and self righteous. it took a couple viewings to understand the part where he comes back to the apartment and the body is gone and everything is clean. the real estate agent was worried about the property value going down so she cleaned up the mess. I didnt understand that at first and thought the murder was a hallucination. Great fucking movie though. I was geeking out when he was banging that chick and staring at himself in the mirror like “fuck yeah im the shit”
buick 8 is one of the few king books left on my list
