Transformers (not a fan) Movie was pretty cool when it came out. I remember really digging the Weird Al sequence and when robot said “Oh shit, what are we going to do now?” or something to that effect. I looked at my friend like “Did they really just say shit in a cartoon? at the time that type of writting was unheard of for movie that was marketed at children. Still, Transformers are gay and honestly don’t measure up to a lot of other great 80’s toy lines for me. They were Ritchie toys and in my opinion, overrated.
GI Joe the movie was never released theatrically, so you have to compare it against the other 5 part episodes that used to air. Specifically, The ’83 self titled pilot and the ’84 Revenge of Cobra season opener. Compared to those, it is limp wristed at best. If it had a theatrical release it’s place in history might have been more prominent. Unfortunately poor marketing relegated it to the worst of three. C-
He-Man and the Masters of the Universe is gold. I wont get to picky there. I still watch it with my daughter on Qubo Night Owl. You can’t fuck with He-Man.

For all of you who like Back to the Future, there is a show on adult swim now called Rick and Morty. It’s based loosely off of the Doc and Marty, but Rick is an alcoholic and Morty has (probably asbergers). They travel to different dimensions. It is one of the best cartoons, and all around TV shows I have seen in a long time. There are so many little things hidden that you don’t notice until you’ve seen all of the episodes, plus it’s hilarious. Here’s a clip:
They also apparently have the whole first season on youtube, as well as quite a few episodes for free on adultswim.com
Make sure you watch after the credits, there is a little extra part after.

love transformers the movie.
im a huge gi joe mark, but as guest pointed out [nice to see you, by the way, @guest ], revenge of cobra and the other various miniseries were better than the tv movie. basicly, no gi joe adaptation has ever been especially good, except the marvel comics series. larry hama made gi joe what it is today.
immediately off the dome, though, i gotta say my all-time favorite kids movie is probably the princess bride.
that flick works on every level, and stays entertaining.

Beast Master was one of my biggies, I loved that movie. Peewees Big Adventure and Monster Squad i knew almost verbatim. I grew up a little and it was Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, and Major Payne. Cartoons didnt come till i was a little older. I could watch all the Illumination, Pixar, and Disney movies daily. Lately my favorite cartoon has been Phineas and Ferb.
The Ernest movies, Little Monsters, Drop Dead Fred, and Short Circuit my little sister loved them.

At the time the Ernest movies were great. Dont know how they would play out today.
Short circuit may be possible to sit thru.
I remember my dad having The Dark Crystal on laser disk. Cant for the life of me remember one scene tho. I do remember at the time it being similar to Fraggle Rock in some kind of way.
