@the_positive_smack Thanks for posting that reddit. All I wanted to know were the “weenies” they were gonna use as references to the original. Not that I needed them to NOT like this movie but all that shit is the stuff people “reserve judgment” until they see… but some of that shit is SOOOO stupid. I’ll go back through it and pull some points so that others won’t have to be “bothered” to read it all.
Also, did you read the comments under the post? It would seem that the reason Bill Murray (who did NOT want to do the movie which is why the GAME is such a monumental feat) and Ernie Hudson did a full 180/about-face on it all…. SONY WAS GONNA SUE THEM IF THEY DIDN’T APPEAR IN THE MOVIE. Apparently, it came out of the Sony email hack…

Reboots are so prevalent because we live in an age of nostalgia. All people want to pay to see is shit they’re already familiar with. And when the cast of the original is either too old or dead, production companies just shove money at the top actors to fill their slots. It’s like, “Who’s trending right now? Okay lets have them do it.”
People are STILL talking about wanting a Goonies 2, as if that could ever be a good idea. But if/when it happens, those same people are going to bitch and moan about it

Um… yeah… not a rumor. Has been in production for a bit now. And it looks pretty fuckin’ decent so far.
It also looks like they are gonna go the direction of the cartoon. Hopefully Tim still knows the value of practical physical special effects and doesn’t just make it some CGI greenscreen crap.
