I remembe watching this on HBO circa … 97? It was very brooding and slow-moving, but captivating and cool. I remember the homeless guy saying he got so drunk that he would end up naked in Times Square.. I still use that phrase lol
So I used to be into comics back in the early stages.. Spider-Man, Venom, Batman. I loved the Maximum Carnage series and Batman VS Predator… anyway, I have been way out of the loop for years, so lately have been reading up on the things that my dear superheroes and villains have been up to. And man, that shit is confusing. I have come to understand that very few comic characters actually die, and that there is no definitive answer as to who the most powerful are. Some say The Living Tribunal, The One Above All (aka God), and such are the top of power. It then spans to different comic companies. DC, Marvel, Image.
I wondered where Spawn stood as far as the most powerful, and I guess he killed or banished God and Satan at one point then took over the universe. Then got bored and gave it away, or something.
Deadpool is becoming bigger due to his movie coming, and I am surprised that I have not kept up with him throughout the years. He is considered close to the strongest not only due to his respawning abilities, but the fact that Thanos has a curse on him which makes him never be able to die, so that he can never reach Thanos’ obsession, a powerful female entity named Death. Death wants Deadpool more, apparently. He gets more and more interesting. Especially seeing as he has fought Carnage, Wolverine, Hulk, Dracula, and many more who have literally beat him to pieces, but he always regenerates and wins.
But he has never crossed over to Image to battle Spawn! After (unfortunately) reading the comment sections, apparently fanboys feel that Spawn is far too powerful to battle Deadpool. This argument gets dissected and reevaluated by many peeps. I for one, think it would be cool anyway.
My extra match-up suggestion? Spawn VS the Cenobites!

It’s good, yes. I even own the DVD

I’ve had this Spawn HBO cartoon on my Netflix list for like 2 years but it’s not actually available, says “Long Wait” or some shit. That sucks because this looks awesome and I want to see it. I’d love to see a new Spawn movie. The one that came out back in the 90’s has not held up very well. In general, I need to read more Spawn comics. I bought a compilation that included like the first 10 issues or something like that, very enjoyable. I also had the Spawn action figures when they first came out just because I thought they looked awesome.
