Don’t get it confused, mad respect and love for Sid, but let me copy what I already typed on the main news page post about this.

Met Sid once, and sadly I am in the minority it seems, as I had a terrible experience. Texas Frightmare Weekend horror-con in grapevine, the first one in 2006 to be exact. It was me, the wifey, and our kid who was 4 at the time. We finally got to Sid after about an hour line and he sees the kid and asks if he has seen house of 1000 corpses yet, our kid says no, and he says “then what the fuck are you doing in my line then? NEXT!” and proceeded to ignore us completely until we walked away with no autograph/photo or anything. We said fuck it and had a 30 minute talk each with bill mosely, irwin keyes, and tom savini right after that lol. Granted I have no idea if he was having a shitty day, maybe the first time newbie convention didn’t pay him or have his rider/terms met, maybe his cat died that day or something. idk, but from videos, pics, stories I have seen and heard, he was actually a really good dude. Sucks we don’t have a fond memory of him, and it still made me tear up when I heard after work. The boy is sad too even with all that.

RIP Sid

As I said, nothing but love, but he must have been off as fuck that day lol. Wish we could’ve met him again to let him redeem himself.

If it was just me and the wifey, then ok. But, with a 4 year old…. it just seemed really crass and disrespectful. Again, he probably had a bad day/week and didn’t want to hear someone say they haven’t seen any of his movies lol
