It’s alright Slum, I enjoyed it. Full Dark No Stars was way better though. The story about dude in the Port-O-San or whatever was straight up disgusting, it had me literally gagging. It was interesting reading the notes at the end of that book to see where he got those ideas from, book was intertwining enough. You’ll really like Doctor Sleep when you get it, well worth it. Not trying to talk it up too much and ruin it, book was the shit though.

OMD, Gerald’s Game is awesome. A lot of people don’t read that one, I like it a lot though, lot of good shit in there.

Didn’t expect a supernatural angle, it was woven in perfectly and shockingly, at least so far. Sure do hope I can finish it soon.

Definitely get back to us when you do finish it. Im curious as to what you think of the end . Geralds game is definitely one of my favorites as uncomfortable as the eclipse  passages are to read. Sure you picked it up in the story by now but the eclipse is the same one from dolores claiborne.

finally picked up doctor sleep sunday night. Im only about 180 pages in but im fucking loving it. You can definitely tell ol steve was an alkie. Nobody could describe in that much detail what its like  unless they went through it.Thats all ill say for spoilers sake except for  i like the character steve fleshed out for danny a whole lot. He is almost exactly as I imagined before this came out

I did indeed notice the Dolores Claiborne connection. I was reminded of it anyway just because of the eclipse, locale and molestation themes. I was thinking I’d bent spacetime for a moment lol.. very cool. But seriously, I’ve managed like 4 pages since last time. My best reading alottment has been disturbed every day by the usually slow job being packed and chaotic. I’m hoping for a relatively slow weekend shift.

Yes ol Steve will always be adept at exorcising the demons of his alcoholic past on the page. Love to read it.

Finally finished Gerald’s Game! Took me three weeks, but if I had had the time + energy at any point, it was excellent enough to read from front to back. It was a great ass book. The truth behind the “space cowboy” was perfect. Highly recommended.

Can’t get excited for this, probably won’t even watch it. So many disappointing King adaptions, and how the hell do you do The Dark Tower justice? I wouldn’t watch Under the Dome in all it’s made for television glory for the same reason. I know some of you are excited for this but I just can’t get myself hype for it. Mark my words, they will fuck it up.

I have more anxiety about a Dark Tower film (s) than I did about the sixth Joker’s Card lol.. because the beauty of DT is that when you read it, its like it’s YOURS! You feel like you are the only one involved in the crazy ka-tet’s tale. Similar to when I meet other Juggalos outside of shows and Gatherings, if I hear them playing anything PSY I can get very apprehensive. Like “fuck you know about the Wicked Clowns, bitch??!”. The DT and Wicked Shit music touch a deeper nerve than other things. Its weird, because eventhough it has sold millions, King admits that DT series is sort of his most unpopular books I can’t recall how he worded it. But it is akin to being “underground” to me in a way. There are Constant Readers and mild King fans etc, but the DT sect is a whole ‘nother breed .

So Pat, I understand your own apprehension. I wish fucking Ron Howard wasn’t involved either.

I could go for a can of Nozz-A-La.

Ron Howard being involved isn’t going to help matters any. I’ve never understood why the Dark Tower books were never more popular, they’re amongst his best. Whole ‘nother world man, very easy to get lost up in the magic of all of it.

It definitely will take a huge budget to get right. Just think about how you feel about the series and realize that howard probably loves it just as much. It would be easy to fuck up but a crime not to at the very least try it. It could be filmed on a potato and id still watch it probably.

Under The Dome was enjoyable for me because I braced myself beforehand about it being pg13 and nowhere close to the book.

A Dark Tower game in 7 installments. Why not? They did it for Harry Potter. I would definitely play a Dark Tower game.

it’d be better than a movie, they could tell so much more of the story as a game compared to as a movie. and let’s face it, who would pass up a chance to be Roland?

Exactly!!! Man, you were on point with that idea, straight up. You could have the game tell the story, battle hack and slash shit God of War style, have things to collect, missions to complete. Dude, i am all about this idea, and I would love to see it happen.

Yessir. The shit needs to be attempted. How do ya’ll feel about Aaron Paul (Jesse from Breaking Bad) being approached for the role of Eddie?

I just re-read Everything’s Eventual…that short story about “the little sisters of eluria” really sparked my thirst for something from the Dark Tower universe.

Yep, def one of my favorite series ever. I got into it in in late middle/early high school, and remember just about shitting my pants when volumes 5-7 finally came out. (probably tantamount to the feeling of cutting class to cop the Wraith a couple years prior to that) I read them all again during summer of 2012. Such an intricate universe, I love how interwoven (almost) everything he’s written is.

Yo, a quick look at Wikipedia shows that there was an 8th book called “the wind through the key hole” released in 2012, which serves as a bridge between Wizard and Glass, and Wolves of the Calla. Have you read this? And where the fuck have I been that I didn’t know about it?!
