okay, i just listened to writers block.  

i dont get why you would be embarrassed of that one, @demonicswagger.  certainly, its not a ‘bad’ song.  at absolute worst, it might be used as a filler for an lp.  i dig it, though i woulda mixed it a lil different.  

if this was about ‘bad’ songs, ive got dozens that would get a worse audience reaction than writers block.  like, literally, at least two dozen.  released.

i got a real love/hate relationship with my music, so i think i know where youre comin from on that.  

ya never know what songs are gonna be the ones that people keep latchin on to.  

our first ep, the most popular track was ‘IHOP skit’, just two guys arguing over a mellow beat for a couple minutes.  but people thought it was funny.  

second ep, the popular track was ‘All Devil’s Night’, which is a good illustration of what i was talkin about before, so i might post that one.  

third ep, everybodys favorite was ‘Frog Killa’, a total throwaway that was just about shooting frogs.  thats it.  an entire track about shooting many, many frogs.  

fourth ep, the big fave response was for an untitled hidden track at the end, which was all about how dope it would be, if we could only be crackheads.  maybe i should post that one…  

fifth ep had a couple tracks that were more or less constructed to appeal, but the surprise likes came for ‘Hammer’.  this song was sampled from and built around the beatles’ song ‘maxwells silver hammer’.  basicly, we ripped it right the fuck off.  [weird note about this track…  a couple years ago i noticed that some fool had edited the wiki for the beatles song to say that icp had covered the track in 2002.  it was wisely edited back before i could post about it here, but there is no fuckin way that whoever did that wasnt referrin to our song.  how many rap ‘covers’ of maxwells silver hammer could there possibly have been in 2002?]  

for our one and only full-length, its a lil hard to say.  we got a wide variety of response there.  in the end, though, the showstopper was ‘Pop Pills’, so id go with that as the all-around best-received.  [actually, i met a guy yesterday who was like, ‘pop pills is the shit!’.  i asked if hes heard about post mortem boredom, hes says no, all hes heard is pop pills.  not bad for a 2004 song…]    

sixth ep, the top response came for ‘I ♥ Pussy’.  that one, we saw comin.  

i know this essay has gone a lil too far, but the point is that most of the time, the songs we arent really in love with are somehow the ones that get peoples attention, and hook em.  

by the way, @demonicswagger, thanks for making me skim through my own back catalog.  lotta memories.
