first gathering in my life. advice for first timers?

probably been asked a million times, but this is gonna be my first gathering Ive ever been to (been wanting to for years but never had a ride or the money) any brotips for first timers? Ive read some online on a gathering group for facebook (make your own toilet out of a bucket/pool noodles so you dont have to fuck with the portapotties everyones been on for instance) but I just figured this board would have plenty of veterans.

This year will be my 7th; beyond water & food I recommend good walking shoes/dry socks for days, sunscreen, and if u can swing it a car pass:

Definitely look back through some past threads in this section of the forum for really good tips. Adding stuff that you may not normally think about; powder, chapstick, beef jerky, blunts, baby wipes. If I have those five things along with the standards like toilet, water, sunscreen, and shelter of some form I’m straight for days.

so my checklist thus far is….condoms,tweezers,tent, sleeping bag/blanket,towels, clothes/socks,water out the ass, stuff for homemade shitter,sandals for shower, food/faygo, cell phone and DO NOT SPIN WHEELS. anything major i’m missing?

Tarps.

They will help you claim real estate upon arrival and will provide sun/rain protection.

thank you for the advice. Id be more worried about catching the herpatitaids from someone else using it but that is good advice (im usually up by 6:30 am but I doubt it will be that way at the gathering) xD

Yeah, about that….bring ear plugs. there are fireworks/m80s going off constantly, like every 5 mins from Tuesday night until, they run out Sunday.

also, those socks? get a brand new bag of very thick, very fluffy socks. you can get by on the same old socks you always wear, but it wont be the same, not by a longshot.

full bag of new socks, preferably enough to change out twice a day. you will thank me.

Hahah nah…. but great advice. I’ll reiterate what I’ve felt to be helpful that hasn’t already been mentioned:

– healthy food. Hopefully fruit like kiwis (loads of vitamins and potassium), citrus and such

Since your from Canada, you’re gonna also need a passport…cant forget that my international ninjas!

Also…backpack, wagon (to haul cooler/ice/water), a smile, more clothes than needed, good footwear, more than enough cash, and have essentials for the possibility of rain…and if you never camped before, i suggest a trial run.

And dont expect to be one of the bummalos and be able to get by, cuz you will end up in an ambulance, i guarantee it.

Passport Im applying for when I get my next check on the 30th (on a disability) im applying at the passport office so it should definitely be in before july. as for the rest of the advice I shall heed it. not gonna bum any drugs/liquor only fucked with pot and I had to quit due to it making my hearing voices worse. want to be sober enough to remember every little detail of this giant fucked up family reunion :)
